When I release the handle to lower the top, my audio always drops for a split second. Not a pop or anything. Just like it mutes quickly and then resumes. The same happens when you reverse the process and lock the top back down. I usually lower or raise the top right when I get in the car or am about to get out so I never noticed why this was happening as the volume was low. However recently when waiting for my kid to come out and get in, I had the music louder and when I released the handle to lower the top, I finally noticed why this was happening. The EQ actually has a different setting for when the top is down. When you release the locking handle for the top and the audio cuts out for a second, it comes back like an old school "loudness" button has been pressed. Volume goes up a bit, bass gets deeper and treble gets higher. Makes perfect sense to compensate for the top being down....

I can't say how long they have been doing this, but my 2019 does it. It's not a new thing.

The audio system automatically mutes for a brief second to switch EQ profiles between the top-up and top-down settings, boosting bass and treble to compensate for outside wind noise.

When all else fails, read the instructions, lol!
Or ask AI! I find it much faster and the answers more precise than the results I get searching the manual. If an answer isn't accurate enough, you can ask follow-up questions and narrow the results. AI will remember what it has already stated and modify its responses, sometimes referring back to previous responses. You can actually tell AI if it is wrong, or inaccurate. I have on numerous occasions had AI correct itself if I report its answers lacking, or flat out wrong. I use multiple AI bots, especially if I feel uncomfortable about an answer. Glenn

Well, to be honest, I wasn't really looking for an answer. I figured out what was happening on my own. I just never gave it much thought and then it made itself obvious one day. So, I figured I'd post in case someone else also noticed it but never thought much of it...
