It was so nice in the 90's and early 2000's when you could buy a car and drive it for three years without numerous recalls. When I turned the key, the dash immediately functioned and I didn't have to wait to download a spinning car.
My 2024 is 90% excellent and 10% JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!

I opened the Ford app today checking to see if I was going to get an alert about the window wiper issue and got this one.

Powertrain control module software update

Has anyone had this one update over the air? My app shows I need it, ford.com does not. and Ford dealer says I do not need it, they said it was done over the air but when the app first told me about it, it wanted me to schedule.

I was at the dealership today. My app calls it out. The dealership service advisor is:

" Lost like a Fart in a Hurricane"

Not much help at all. I'll just wait for a letter in the mail.

I have auto update off on my car but this recall showed up then magically disappeared.

My update notice also magically disappeared after my VIN was checked at the dealership.
I didn't check the app until later that evening..

Ours disappeared as well and we haven’t done anything other than drive to work and back.

Reading all of your guys posts, I can't imagine how frustrating this has too be......

Ford across its lineup has had way too many recalls, but it seems this is a major trend and issue across ALL manufactures...... Even the ole stalwarts of reliability, Toyota, Subaru, Nissan and Honda, seem to have a different recall every week.........

It's one of the reasons I won't plop down $$$$$$ on a new or used C8.... I just don't trust all of the electronics on cars now days. The older I get, the more old school / analog I seem to get

My recall disappeared from the app as well and it's not on the NHTSA either. The only recall I have listed is the BCM water intrusion one. I'm wondering if Ford decided to make this one an OTA?

As far as a recall update no. On my 24 F350 I’ve had two recalls that were software repairable done by the dealer with a mobile tech that came to the house and did the update in my driveway. Of course one of the times his laptop needed an update and killed his battery so he had to drive all the way across town back to the dealership and get another laptop.
