Is there a reason Mustang drivers need to jack up their cars to the point they require jack rails under it? I just hope it isn't for the same reason my neighbor jacks up his CTS-V? ....to wash the insides of the wheel rims? Talk about OCD!

Here's one example: I never take my car to get new tires installed. I take the four wheels in my wife's Edge, have the new tires put on, and take them home. I don't trust tire places and would mount and balance them myself, if I could.

But, yes, once there all off, I do wash the inside of the rims. :giggle:

Sunvisor Solutions Sun Visor Label Covers

Date completed: 10/30/24

Purchased from: SunvisorSolutions.com

Another simple modification I do pretty quickly is to cover the ugly white/yellow warning labels on the sun visors.

There are cheaper options (vinyl), but these are actually made out of headliner material. The color chart (which you do have to purchase) helps you pick the best color/material.

I'll save you the $5.95, if interested. For our black sun visors, "2350 Ebony" is the perfect match, and you will need a pair of 4.5" x 5.5".

Is it legal? Yep... check their FAQ section.

Do they look way better than the eyesore stickers? Yep! :sunglasses:

Performance Pack Carbonized Gray Rims

Date completed: 11/17/24

Purchased from eBay (this Seller)

This thread tells the whole story, but I did end up going for the Carbonized Gray rims... obviously, or I wouldn't be writing this.

Which rim do you like better? | Mustang7G - 2024+ S650 Mustang Forum (Dark Horse, GT, EcoBoost, GT500, GT350, Mach 1)

I did purchase four front rims/tires (9.0") so I could properly rotate tires. I've never been a fan of staggared tire set-ups. If not a daily driver, I wouldn't care.

I think it's a night and day difference!

I was going to go the same route, BUT, I dont like the OEM wheel offsets.
I like to push the wheel further out (just a little) and for that I will go aftermarket

Talking about offsets, the 9.5" rim has a 7.5mm greater offset than the 9.0" rim, so they stick out (almost) exactly the same (the difference is .025"). I'm going to look into wheel spacers, either 20mm or 25mm, to bring both the front and back out a little bit.

That is an option but I'm not a fan of spacers, but those wheels look really good for sure, congrats

Same... but I gave them a try on my 2015. Something like the link below. Gotta be hubcentric, of course. A good 6 years or so on the car and no issues. I even hit a curb cutting a corner two tightly in a dark parking lot - it caught the right rear tire. Huge bang and cracked the rim. I had to order a new 50th anniversary rim (not cheap) and get it aligned. Not a single issue with the spacer, though.

The installation is correct. The jacking rail will be at a very slight angle. This does not affect the performance of the jacking rail.

You can reuse the factory front bolts, installed through the jacking rail flange, to secure them in place.

Best,

Tim

@tj@steeda thanks for the reply! Did they tell you what this plate is for?

Also - I was thinking: could the jacking rail slide in between the car's frame and this mysterious plate? I checked - it does line up with the holes this way. Then the plate would be at a slight angle, though, which may not be that big of a deal.

Escort iXc Radar Detector with Mirror Tap

Date completed: 11/22/24

The Escort iXc is nothing fancy, and sure isn't new, but man does it have some long-range detection! If it ain't broke, don't fix it (or spend $800 for a new one!).

Here's all you need to know about tapping into power behind the rear view mirror from @Interstellar :

HOW TO: Radar Detector Hard Wire Install with BlendMount | Mustang7G - 2024+ S650 Mustang Forum (Dark Horse, GT, EcoBoost, GT500, GT350, Mach 1)

Here's what I got from Amazon. There are cheaper ones, but this one is really nice quality:

Amazon.com: Radar Mount RJ11 Mirror Wire Power Cord for Escort Radar Detectors - Max 360C MaxCam Redline (3005201IX) : Radar Mount: Electronics

Pics of the install - pins inserted and taped up. Plus no dangling cords... nicely tucked up and out of the way.

You've got me thinking.....best bang for the buck may be used take off OEM wheels with spacers 🤔
