@RaceRedder no warning lights when the rears are disconnected, so most likely none for the front, either.

Do you change your own oil? And did you switch from using the blend to full synthetic motocraft 5W/30. Did it take the full 10 quarts? I just picked up supplies from Ford to do the 1000 mile break in oil change on my GT and any tips you may have are appreciated.

Yes, definitely! But I haven’t on this car, yet. I’m just over 2000 miles and I have a week off over Christmas, so I was going to do the first one then.

I’ve heard 10 and 9.5, so I guess we’ll see, soon! I have always used the Motorcraft filter and the Motorcraft blend.

I do know it’s a lot of little screws to take off. I added a trap door to the 2015 to remove the filter. Not sure if something like that is available for our cars. It’s in my journal for the 2015, if you’re curious … link is in my signature.

I see many owners switching to full synthetic from the blend and that's what I will be doing. Used some of my rewards points to buy the supplies.

Is there a reason Mustang drivers need to jack up their cars to the point they require jack rails under it? I just hope it isn't for the same reason my neighbor jacks up his CTS-V? ....to wash the insides of the wheel rims? Talk about OCD!

Here's one example: I never take my car to get new tires installed. I take the four wheels in my wife's Edge, have the new tires put on, and take them home. I don't trust tire places and would mount and balance them myself, if I could.

But, yes, once there all off, I do wash the inside of the rims. :giggle:
I do the same...

Performance Pack Carbonized Gray Rims

Date completed: 11/17/24

Purchased from eBay (this Seller)

This thread tells the whole story, but I did end up going for the Carbonized Gray rims... obviously, or I wouldn't be writing this.

Which rim do you like better? | Mustang7G - 2024+ S650 Mustang Forum (Dark Horse, GT, EcoBoost, GT500, GT350, Mach 1)

I did purchase four front rims/tires (9.0") so I could properly rotate tires. I've never been a fan of staggared tire set-ups. If not a daily driver, I wouldn't care.

I think it's a night and day difference!

Looks lots better, very nice. Square setup WTG for daily driver.

Well... I just measured:

Stud length on a GT Premium Coupe non-PP = 30mm
Relief indention on a 9.0" PP rim = 8mm at most. Let's say 7mm to be safe.

30mm - 7mm = 23mm.

A 20mm spacer will not work. A 25mm spacer will have a good 2mm of clearance. Not much, but clearance is clearance.

I dangled a string with a nut over the fenderwell of each tire.

Fronts are set in 20mm.
Rears are set in 15mm.

25mm spacers will have my tires sticking out 5mm in the front and 10mm in the back.

Wonder how that will look? Too bad 20mm spacers won't work.
A couple other forum members running 25mm spacers, should be able to find some examples.

I think you should try it and post up the pics - then I can decide what to do 😂
I think I’ll get a pair of 25mm spacers and try them on one side of the car. If it looks good, then great, I’ll order another pair. If not I’ll check how much of the 30mm is used for the lug nuts on the stock setup. I think there’s plenty to cut off 3mm. Meaning, there would be 27mm studs if I ever went back to stock, which I probably never would, so it’s really moot.

Let me know how it goes. Maybe I’ll do the same with this car.

Ford All-Weather Floor Mats

Date completed: 12/20/24

Part number: FR3Z-6313300-BA

I know there are other options out there, but I opted for the tried-and-true Ford all-weather floor mats with the Pony emblems.

Most places have them on backorder, but I got a brand new set on eBay for cheaper.

Old and new:

Ford Performance Strut Tower Brace

Date completed: 11/15/24

Purchased from: American Muscle

Part Number: M-20201-MA

After going back and forth between a few options, I decided that this one would look the best on a black car. There are already plenty of good write-ups for this install, but here are some pictures.

One thing that I do see a lot - you don't need to cut and replace this! It doesn't screw onto the stud - it is just pressed on and you can just flip it up out of the way to replace the nut.

Ha! I’m used to it having had one for the last 10 years on the 2015. But you made me go check to see if it’s worse! (It's the same) :)
