I believe the answer depends on where you are in life. I'm 85, and an Eco-Boost is about as good as it gets. Low noise (in comparison), fantastic gas mileage, responsive at any speed short of 130+, and a better than average sound system if you buy the Premium model as I did.

I've owned my EB for nine months, and the OD says less ≈1,900 miles of my driving (delivered at 283). If I have a complaint, it is the cabin and road noise. My 2019 Ranger is quieter all around. Otherwise, I'm quite pleased overall.

Yup I agree with you 100% and major respect to you for still being an auto enthusiast at 85, that's something that I aspire to be as well, keep on driving and enjoying life brother.

“Better than” is subjective. Better for whom? Someone who doesn’t track? A person that daily drives? Someone who is leasing the car for just a few years? These options (Base, Premium, Performance Pack, Dark Horse) exist as options to fit your individual wants and needs. So, whatever options you buy are in fact, options, and hopefully you get what’s best for you, not for anyone else. As such, I have a hard time getting anything out of these “this is better than that” videos.

Yup you're absolutely correct, better is absolutely subjective in this instance because some people would rather pay 30k more to get the extra performance parts from Ford rather than source, and have the parts installed themselves for a lot less money and I get that, to each their own.

Problem with many videos is they state something, take too much time to explain the subject, and one develops YTDD, YouTube Deficit Disorder. No offense towards you. I'm one who wants to go back to a base model from the Dark Horse Premium. Can't always keep my vehicle in sight when I'm inside somewhere in town. Or may get a Mach I like I bought my wife. Mostly because I don't care much for the S650 dash, and standard S550s are hard to find with extremely low miles.

the other answer to this is youtube videos have to be 8 minutes to be considered for ad mid roll, which is already too long for these kinds of videos, but people have just stretched out their videos to meet this requirement

Yup trust me I get it and I do my best to not be one of those kind of creators which is why I got straight to the point in the video and I have place markers in the video showing you each reason, and I do my best to explain every reason. I'm with you on getting a Mach1 that's initially the car I wanted to get myself but I couldn't fine one with low miles and a reasonable price.

TBH the business side of Youtube sucks, they barely pay anything and have tons of rules that kills creativity, I actually lose a lot of money making content, but I enjoy sharing my passion as a car enthusiast with like minded people, so I continue to make content and hope more people watch eventually.

I got white Mach I for 52 grand, 5K miles for my wife. Her dad got one Fighter Jet Grey 38K, almost 9k miles, 2023. The family felt the car gave the too many painful memories, so I had to be a good guy and ease their pain. It was a steal. 😇

Great people. Best on earth. My wife originally had a Ecoboost PP loaded, but she wanted more power. Her mom wanted it. So her mom bought it with 2k miles on it. I think. I'm using her Mach 1 while she's in training, and commute with it. Going to have to get myself another Mustang very soon. New or S550. I like the S550 dash better. I'm not going to be choicy. Will be retiring in a few years.

Comparing a loaded, handling package Dark Horse to a Base GT on price is a bit unfair.

I whined about replacing the Trofeos but Ford is selling you a car you can literally drive to the track, run a track day, and drive home. Of course you’d better replace those Pirellis right away because after a track day, they’re heat cycled to death.

The looks are subjective.

track options are going to make cars heavier. The Dark Horse handling package cars aren’t marketed to drag racers - or you’d see skinny front tires.
Nothing new here. the ’87 LX weight much less and quarter miled faster than the GT’s of the era.

For track days, auto cross and similar disciplines the Dark Horse is better positioned.

You guys let me know if you agree with these reasons or not, especially reason number 3 which I know can be subjective. If you're not interested in supporting me or my content I completely understand, but for those of you that want to be a part of a positive movement to keep companies like Ford producing fun V8 muscle cars, go ahead and watch the video and feel free to give me your feedback after watching.
All I'm hearing is I can't afford Dark Horse so everybody make me feel better. So I guess I'm just one of those ignorant mustang owner. Maybe find a better job then trying to be an influencer because your not good at it. The only a hole I see is you.

When I was first in the market to purchase a 2024 Mustang Ecoboost everytime I chose my upgrades, which made the car loaded, I'd be only a few thousand away from the next model. So I got up to the 401A and noticed it $64k, and the Dark Horse base was a mere $66k. Almost got the DH with Tremec and optional security package. I scrubbed that and got a black 300A, 6 speed, 3.55 and Whippled it. The thing had too much bottom end. 20"s would've gave it better driveability, I've been told. But I'm not the one to spend a lot on something I hade to take off and have them laying around in the garage for fancier versions. I like the looks of the 18s. Drove the car whippled and hated the way the car dipped and dived especially cornering. So I sold it and got a DH Premium. I like everything about it sans the ugly front end. GT front ends look better. No thick eyeliner is needed on my DH. I believe the front end was modified in a way to cool down certain parts under the car. So now I'm considering another GT 300A, A10/3.15, but with a Supercharger this time around. I don't need a 161 lbs. brick as an intake.

Personally, I buy as many toys on a car as I can afford. I just like stuff.
Like big brakes, sporty exhaust, etc.
But if there was a DH on the showroom floor, I don't think I could have resisted
