I guess we're in a race (pun intended) for the 1/4 mile between the Mustang and the eCorvette?

There is one thing which puzzles me. The eRay (or whatever you call it) hovers around $200,000 plus dealer add-ons (≈$25,000 or more). Quarter mile times are in the neighborhood of 10 seconds and 125 mph. The GTD is even more expensive (≈$350,000) and takes about 11 seconds for the quarter. The terminal speed is close to 135. You'd think the GTD could best the eRay all considering, but it doesn't.

The Eray stars around 112K. Are you thinking of the ZR1 than starts at 185K and runs 9s?

Whipple already has a listing for the Dark Horse SC to upgrade the supercharger to a 3.8L. no performance figures yet, though. but given Whipple also has a 3.8L for the Raptor R that takes its 700hp to 975hp, my estimate is the one for the Dark Horse SC will go to 1050hp-1100hp
I guess they can pump up the PSI because of the "low compression" 9.5:1 in the 5.2.

I remember when engines for blowers were 7.5 or 8:1 and "high compression" for the street was a scary 10:1 or 10.5:1 that often still detonated on pump gas in the summer. Iron heads. Carburetor. Distributor. Spark curve set with weights and springs.

Funny how they can promise all of this on a car that they have not even seen yet, much less bolted a huge 3.8L blower onto . . .

" . . . the Dark Horse SC upgrade is being engineered with a focus on OEM-level integration, exceptional airflow efficiency, and robust thermal management. As with previous Whipple GT500 systems, development targets include high horsepower capability, consistent performance under sustained load, and drivability suitable for both street and track use."

Limp mode in less than 5 laps <-- Prediction.

Are there any existing 5.2 cars running laps with a 3.8 Whipple with all of this great, robust thermal management and consistent performance under sustained load?
