I took a road trip over the 4th from San Antonio to Tyndall SD, around 1050 miles one way. I was interested in what my gas milage would be. I was surprised on the way to South Dakota I drove to Salina Kansas around 750 miles and mileage was over 35MPG. From Salina to Tyndall SD, around 359 miles I was pushing 42MPG, but I had a pretty strong wind at my back. I have pictures to prove this if anyone doubts. On the way back it was non stop so I just measured the entire drive at 35MPG. This was my first road trip since I bought the car. In SA I am getting around 20-25MPG.

Cheers.

Sounds about right. I got ~36.7mpg on 200+ mile trips around Northern California, roundtrips to even out elevation changes. The fuel efficiency of the Ecoboost is shockingly good, especially for how fun and fast it is. These Ecoboost 2.3s and the BMW B48s are the best turbo 4s on the market these days. I think the BMW gets similar power and MPG figures, and also torquey down low

I just returned from a two week, 6000 mile "drive about" road trip to 13 mid / western states, less than 500 miles of the trip were driven on an interstate. My hand calculated gas mileage for the trip was 34.7 mpg. The cheapest fuel I bought was in Scottsburg IN - $2.99 per gal .... the most expensive was in Fairplay CO - $5.23 per gal. Already planning another trip for the fall.
