I bought a leftover 2024 GT about a month ago with 50 miles when I left the dealership, currently at 1200. Since the day I bought it, the car will have an extended crank start after being up to operating temp, and then left to cool down for 2 hours or so. Starts normal when cold, and hot.

I did a quick search for TSBs and SSMs, nothing related to this issue.

Service department since you've got full warranty on it. Never seen that before, definitely something off

Sometimes modern cars crank for a slightly extended period just to make sure everything is operating properly, most notable off the top of my head are Corvettes, but this is way more exaugurated.

I'd take it to a dealer and have them check why its not firing the cyl's. Curious what they'll come up with

Probably the battery. Take it in and have it checked. That's not normal.

Not normal. Something is amiss! I would push the issue with the dealer or find one who is competent.

An extended crank has nothing to do with a battery.

Says my 47 years in the car business. Extended crank is turning over without starting, like a car thats out of gas. You won't get that with a weak battery, that is a won't crank condition.

So battery 101, the battery provides the energy to cause the starter to engage and turn over or crank the engine. A weak or bad battery will cause a slow crank, no crank or crank then shut off. The OP is describing a condition where the engine will crank or turn over, but not start for a extended period of time. The fact that it turns over for a long time would exclude the battery. Extended crank conditions are usually fuel related, think a carb that has vapor locked on an older car.
If the dealer can duplicate the complaint, it can be fixed, but its not going to ba a battery.
