Hello,

i am in the market for a manual 6-speed GT.

Today i test drove 2 back to back cars both M6 6-speed.
1st car - 2024 GT Prem with 20 inch silver wheels with 401A and Active Exhaust (stock).
2nd car - 2024 GT with Yellow Splash and Perf Pack with Active Exhaust (stock).
I drove both cars on the exact routes.

The GT Prem ride quality was noticeably much better. It felt like a great ride. The exhaust was somewhat loud and the gearing seemed comfortable but longer.

The GT Perf Pack had a ride that was shaky, stiffer, road bumps were felt, but exhaust was significantly louder with burbles and pops. Even the sales person agreed the exhaust was noticeably louder. The steering felt a lot heavier and the car was more agile. However ride quality seemed bad compared to the GT Prem. The gearings were short and I was easily able to get the 4th gear on couple of times while I could not get over 3rd gear on the GT Prem. The one thing that I did notice is that the clutch was not smooth in the 2nd car. It felt like mid way through while clutching in there were some harshness/hardness/like a bump/ for lack of explaining.

My question is - did I have a normal experience? Is the GT Perf Pack exhaust actually louder than the GT Prem active exhaust? Is the GT Perf Pack ride is actually worse on regular roads? Can I actually shift more on GT Perf pack because gears are shorter?

thank you for any suggestions. Over all I liked the GT Prem but did not like the Perf Pack mainly due to ride quality. The Perf Pack was harsh and car was bumping from one corner to the other.

Final question - will 19 inch wheels in the GT Prem with 255 wheels worsen the ride quality or improve it compared to the 20inch oem wheels? I had a 2019 GT Prem w/255 that came via blacktop package. The ride quality sucked.

Thank you.

I have ā€˜24 w/o the performance pack and the 20ā€ wheels. I could definitely tell the difference from the standard 19s. It felt more grounded. I’ve taken it to the tail of the dragon and it handled great. Unless you track the car I’m not sure you would utilize it. I drove it 8 hours and felt great after the ride. I find the standard set up for the every day driver suits me fine. I will say mine is an automatic. It handles great. Remember you have to be comfortable. Buy what suits you best and your wallet. It did have the upgraded brembo brakes and they are awesome. I definitely like the 20ā€ tires better IMHO.
