Hi Folks,
As some of you know I got my engine replaced with a new one. Currently in the break in process and the engine has about 400 miles. No check engine light. Runs and feels great by 99.999% of the time .
Few concerns
Concern #1
There were few instances (3-4 times) where while I was...
That’s exactly what i’m doing with my new engine. It’s an auto though. I use the shifters . Past the first 50 miles, 4000-4500 is my limit now. Once I hit 150-200 miles I will increase it to 5k or so…all accelerations are quite linear, nothing aggressive.
you should take it easily for the first couple hundred miles. use the paddle shifters to downshift and let the engine brake , lift off gas for same thing. avoid driving at constant rpms. Any acceleration make it more linear. Don't exceed 4k rpms the first 100-200 miles. Then increase the limit...
@rijndael did you have the chance to finish your measurements ? Would be good so see the difference before and after the oil cooler installation. Thanks!
My coolant turned to "aged wine" color at 4k miles....not sure if this is associate with the leak. BUT they did pressurize the coolant system over night and it dropped few psi.
As a side note, I did personally checked with the madox kit but the color never changed ....tiny leaks might not shown...
A combination of tiny gasket leaks, gasket wrap / worn piston rings / worn valve seals. All of the above at some extent...I assume all of them at the microscopic level since no visible leaks were present but over time the fluid levels were going down....
I was at the verge of lemoning it and...
Long story short
I had made few posts in the past about coolant levels reduction, coolant discoloration & engine oil level reduction. No check engine lights , car run great. Dealer in the past had claimed that all these are normal since they did't find any leaks..but I was not convinced. I...
Currently I have installed the "Street Starter" (#4455) and it has been great so far. I want to upgrade to the handling pack. Based on Steeda's table I will have to add vertical links (#4121) , rear toe links (#4120) and diff bushing inserts (4443). The later one might increase the noise and I'm...
I have a question. Why do you avoid answering any emails? I also had to find your phone number through my credit card...I called you and you gave me an ETA for delivery of 1 month..you also told me not to call you again because this is a personal number......it took 4 months and nothing...
1. Gear shifting is very quick
2. Transmission whines at sport and track modes. Especially when left at high rpms
3. Gear changes become more aggressive / abrupt either at higher temperatures and/ or more aggressive driving style.
4. Transmission oil can easily overheat in canyon carving
5...
Hi folks,
I recently took my car to a performance shop and did - among others - an oil change. I provided my own fluids, 10 Qt of oil plus the filter.
I have a dash camera on my car and I noticed that when they lifted the car they let it for at least 30-40 min (they were also changing the diff...
same here. just top it off when cold and monitor. Mine also change color at about 4k miles. See thread https://www.mustang7g.com/forums/threads/coolant-consumption.171188/
It came low from the factory but never had any heat issues
