I just confirmed this for my car, on highway at 70mph 80F ambient. For reference again, I have 2024 GT non-PP A10.
AC on is 197 CHT and 215 Oil Temp
AC off is 212 CHT and 230 OIl Temp
I got $1000 that says my car (and probably others) was stuck on the "AC on" fan maps all the time and this...
Correct, the actual temp of 220 to 230 isn't my concern, its the overnight 20F offset that concerns me.
My honest assumption is that the temp increase isn't real. The update messed with the algorithm calculation on purpose or on accident. There is nothing else but this calculation that...
Coolant level good, oil level good, verified that the front grill louvers are open, fan is operational, air filters appear in good shape (have about 5k miles on them), and front grill path to filter is clear.
As a follow up, while driving home on the highway at 70 mph, 75F ambient, it held solid at 233F which is the first time I have ever seen my oil temp go over 230.
Before this SW update, even a short idle would bring temps down to 195, but I can see what ur saying. I think this is an overall "keep an eye on it" situation.
I let it idle so long to see if it would cool down. Normally dont do that. I'll keep an eye on the IAT as well. Tbh, it seems normal IATs for long idle, you can see in my pic it was 64F outside.
Just verified the oil level is good. Did do an oil change 1 week ago, using Motorcraft 5W-30 full synthetic, but today after the SW update is the first time seeing this behavior. Oil pressure responds correctly, 100 psi on cold start, 25 on idle, 30 to 70 while driving at different rpms. A few...
To be fair, that was after a good 10 to 15 minutes of idling.
Just called my Ford dealer and they said unless the temps climb to over 250, they aren't concerned. Said sometimes the sensors will have this issue every once in a while and go away. Suggested I watch it for a week and call back...
My 24 S650 GT Premium asked for a SW update when I got home last night. I told it to update now and wwnt inside. This morning, when I finished my 12 minute drive to work, I looked at my oil temp and it was 206, which seemed odd as its usually under 200 for such a shot trip in cool weather. As...
I noticed mine was low around 6200 miles, right around the min line like yours. I bought myself a gallon from the ford dealer and put it to a little under Max. Hasn't moved since.
Last question. I found these spots because I just got done doing a paste waxing. Do I need to strip off the wax in the area to use the touch up paint and/or apply the PPF?
If so, what method is best to locally remove the wax?
Thank you for the info. I ordered the anchor room precut PPF from CJ Pony Parts for this area. I'll do the touch up paint, then install the pieces the next day. Won't worry about the clear coat cause the PPF will be there.
How long is needed to let touch up paint cure before applying the PPF?
Will the PPF application solution try to rehydrate and wash away the paint if no clearcoat is added over it?
I was giving my car a spring wax today and noticed a couple rock chips on the area in front of the rear tires. I see that CJ pony parts has PPF specifically cut for this area.
Is it alright to put PPF over rock chips? Years later when it's time to remove it, will the PPF try to take the...
