I've had a similar noise and have taken Zig's approach. It hasn't gotten worse and I havnt felt the need to engage the dealer since it would be gone by the time I get out of my neighborhood. Having said that, if someone knows the solution I'd be happy to fix it

The initial fill is probably more with the oil cooler, but the fluid in there wont drain back to the pan, so oil changes probably wont be different fill amounts?? That's my guess.

This really is a case of giving the consumer too much information. Other than displaying that algorithm, there is literally nothing else indicating a change in engine behavior. This is probably good advice.
