Wrong.
Even brand new parts can be defective. Defective parts can cause failures. Ford doesn't care if your aftermarket modification was defective or not, even if perfectly installed. If it can be determined that the defective part was the root cause of the failure of an otherwise covered...
Congrats, @mks. Like I said, I still do that myself.
The APIM edit simply displays the option in the Vehicle/Locks screen. But without the correct BCM edits, that option won't do squat (enabled or disabled).
@rugedraw, Livinitup can add those three edits for WALF to the spreadsheet.
You're doing it the RIGHT way. You have more than just anecdotal evidence that you NEED a diff cooler for how are using your vehicle. You're not just adding things based on thoughts or feelings.
Oh, hush! The DH grille is MUCH cooler looking than the GT grille ... unless you have a BBQ on...
Ford can't void your (entire) warranty because you install something like that.
What they CAN do is: If they determine that the modification you made was the cause of an otherwise covered part to fail, they can deny the warranty claim/repair for THAT specific issue.
Install an oil cooler or...
1. Start car
2. Move shifter to 'D'
3. Drive down the road at a decent speed
4. Roll down window
5. Toss that piece of crap iPhone out of the open window
No more CarPlay!
Seriously, I think it will go to CarPlay/AA if your phone connects to it. IIRC, that's been a question/complaint for a while.
That right there is your problem. I don't give a shit what someone else thinks when I get out of my car ... or any other time, for that matter.
The hell they won't! And do!
It's called marketing. No different than "Win on Sunday, buy on Monday".
Some people will spend thousands more (for parts only cost Ford hundreds) for a DH or PP just to say they have one and to play Ricky Racer. Ford isn't dumb - they do it to make money...
You can increase/decrease the number of presets with FORScan, but you may be able to do it from the Sync screen (don't recall).
I think mine defaulted to three rows of presets.
To get to the other rows of presets, tap/hold/slide to the left or right to reveal more.
Not really. You're adding something to the vehicle that the manufacturer didn't believe it needed and did not install.
You can add $100,000 worth of mods to your car if you want. But in some cases, adding a mod without a tangible benefit or purpose does little more than make you feel good...
The values I used worked for me for WALF, @MKS33. I did revert them back later as I didn't want the horn chirp, but I did test it out and the horn chirp when WAL triggered did work.
Suggestion: Double-check and make sure your edits are correct. I've been doing this for years and still screw...
