Hate to break it to you, but lane centering assist is not "hands-free". Your car does NOT have hands-free driving. BlueCruise is hands-free, and is only available on certain vehilces.

The auto parts stores do a chit job of "checking" batteries. 90% of the time, they a flunkies who don't know their head from a hole in the ground. I would trust one about as far as I can throw one, and I SURE as heck wouldn't trust them near my $70K Dark Horse.
The vehicle is a new vehicle under factory warranty. There is absolutely no reason to take it anywhere else, unless you prefer to pay someone else to do work that the dealership should do at no cost under warranty.

Alternators are not intended to charge batteries. They are intended to power the electrical system and accessories while the vehicle is running and to maintain the state of charge of the battery.
