    Quick update. The stock cats lasted 800ish miles. RIP stock cats. The car started to blow smoke under boost and got a quite a bit louder and smellier after the last few rips last week. Figured they were going, so had to get them gutted. Car is perfect again now and rips HARDER than before...

    Ive tuned 267 of them since July of last year. There are tremendous gains in both performance and drivability getting a quality tune. I tuned my personal GT at about 100 miles on the odo and its the way it should be from the factory.

    Yeah, the whole manifold had to come off. Then you cut the front of it off and it’s a straight shot right into the cat. Lots of work but worth it.

    I took the easy way out and gutted the cats. Wow what a massive difference in power now. Not too much louder too.

    Discussed to death is the understatement of the centry. As everyone eventually finds out, buy a bottle of Liquimoly Ceratec and dump it in after every oil change. It will remove the tick until you change the oil again. You're welcome.

    Are they seeing smoke under boost? That’s my current issue and I’m positive it’s cats melting in real time. Doesn’t feel down on power.

    I’m starting to get some white soot on my tips and some smoke under boost and the car is noticeably louder and smells bad at idle. I think mine failed or are in the process of failing. I have the ESS kit. Tuning on my own obv. It’s apparently clear the stock cats are a liability.

    Thats not ideal. I took a blood vow with myself many years ago to never again own a car with no cats. I cant stand how awful the raw exhaust smells, plus the coyote becomes so ratty sounding with headers and no cats. Its just not on my playlist.

    No you dont need to do any of that. I did mine a few days ago, took about an hour. A few socket extensions worked perfect. I removed my strut tower brace and the engine cover, and that was it. Getting to the back passenger side was the hardest, but if you use a 6" extension and a 5/8...

    Not off the top of my head no. It was just all default options kit with the g3 and 120mm pulley. It’s a missile now.

    Run it in quiet mode. That is like stock track mode was. From there its just too loud for me. People learn it the hard way.
