This is not always a good idea. Some module updates can contain config changes that Ford meant to send that you would be reverting back by doing this.
The truth is, there is no real reason to revert FORScan changes. If I wanted to, I know everything I changed and I can change it back by doing...
No, it will not be a true "as-built" file once the changes you make are synced up to the mothership.
In the module config page, if you did not make any changes to any of the blocks and click write all, FORScan will pull the ab from Ford directly.
Nothing wrong with getting a copy of your ab data as it is before you start making changes, but keep in mind that if you scroll to the bottom of the module config page in FORScan, you will see this "write all" button there. All you have to do is click that and FORScan will pull the ab data for...
You need the PCM strategy file name. You can probably use the tuner to get it, but if you're unsure how to do it, message me the VIN and I'll get it for you.
Known issue. Disconnect the negative cable from your 12v battery for 20 minutes. Check for updates again and it will make it past the spinning pinwheel.
Added OTA TCU-25.2.8.5 first reported here to the spreadsheet:
https://www.mustang7g.com/forums/threads/haven%E2%80%99t-had-an-ota-update-in-a-long-while.175386/
Yes, this will disable OTA's. You can just go into the settings and turn data sharing off. There is no need to go full excommunicado, but to each their own.
Many independent shops have FDRS. If he does, he can run the TRON procedure in minutes. That's if it's needed. The code was random and not persistent.
If the battery pull worked last time, I would do it again. The update could possibly address the issue of the spinning wheel. The update you...
@sarahestelle Got your message, and something may be going with your car that needs dealer attention. When you disconnected the 12v battery, did you leave it disconnected for at least 20 minutes? if you did, and are still having the spinning pinwheel issue, then a dealer visit may be warranted...
The people that answer the phone when you call Ford read from a script and are nothing more than expert apologists. Ford should train them to actually help people.
When you say "more spinning", you mean on the touchscreen in the car? Are you still getting spinning pinwheel when you check for...
That info is from PTS; FDRS does not have the ability to show info on OTA's.
I'm really not interested in getting into a debate over this. People can believe whatever they want.
Incorrect. Even on wifi, the vehicle will use the modem for 99% of updates. Only a handful of updates come through wifi and these updates are to make specific changes in configurations and not updates the change the firmware itself.
I know this because there is not a single OTA for any Ford...
IMO: They will eventually stop making improvements and adding things, but OTA's will continue to be sent to satisfy recalls and issues. Sync 4 is already being replaced in some vehicles with the "Digital Experience", so it's a matter of time before Sync 4 reaches its limit.
Added OTA ECG2-25.2.8.5 and PT-25.8.0 to the spreadsheet based on reports in this thread:
https://www.mustang7g.com/forums/threads/new-update-actually-first-update.175226/#post-3490950
I have not been following this closely, so if anyone has gotten any other updates not listed and has the...
I'll add it to the OTA history thread.
Interesting. This has the same verbiage as PT-25.1.3.1 that was first reported in August of last year. That you know of, as anyone actually gotten this one yet so I can add it, too?
