My 2024 GT Premium 6-speed is unaffected by any current recall. I understand that other Mustang GT manuals have been subject to recall for differential and axle issues. The car is 24 months old and has 8,300 miles on it.

I had a routine service performed at a local dealer. On the checklist was a suspicious item: "During inspection found rear axle leak leaking recommend replacing." It was indicated to be "Customer Pay $361.72".

WTF? What about the warranty????? The avoiding-eye-contact answer from the service advisor? "Well...we need to get in there and diagnose it and determine that," and apparently they want me to authorize $361.72 to do that?

Meanwhile, NO fluid on the driveway, no suspicious noise, vibration etc.

What a load of horse...stuff.

This is probably the way they write up the invoice. It im sure will be covered under your warranty. Maybe that is the actual cost but you will not be liable to pay that. Just make sure you voice your concerns with them. Keep us posted. Goodluck 🍻

Given the fact that they would not actually acknowlege that it would, not could be covered under warranty, I suspect that they were going to try to charge me. The service advisor's evasiveness under my basic and reasonable questioning was, to me, a giant red flag.

Should it ever fail, I suspect that Ford will beef a warranty repair. So I'm going to escalate to a manager for a more concrete answer than what the service advisor told me.

Im almost sure this definitely would be covered under your warranty. If this dealership is jerking you around see if there is a another you can go to. I would definitely keep pushing on this to be reminded under warranty at no cost to you. Cheers 🍻

Here's an update: once escalated to the right person, all squared away and under warranty. Will be taking it in tomorrow.

Thanks to those who responded. Dealer response was quick, apologetic and clear. I'm satisfied.
