I'm starting to wonder what kind of people work in your USA dealerships. It seems like you don't need to have any degree and knowledge to work there if I have to believe all the comments from people who don't being their car for a recall?
What country would require a degree to wrench on cars?

Ford issues a procedure to solve the problem.

You don't get paid for being creative or going beyond what Ford tells you to do, and you will be paid based upon how long Ford believes it should take.

You could have a PhD from Caltech, it doesn't matter, you're getting paid to do what Ford tells you to do, not one bit more.

If you see water is coming in over here but the Ford procedure ignores that area, you've just done work the factory doesn't want you to do, so you've wasted time and materials. 🤷‍♂️

"Why did you use an extra half tube of silicone sealing that area?"

"Because water was coming in there."

"Is it in the Ford procedure?"

"No."

"Then why did you do it? That's coming out of your paycheck."

That basically sums up why dealer service is so bad.

That may be true, but it's also questionable whether an independent would do any better.

Sure, the famous mechanics on YouTube would, but otherwise…
