no, its just where i would normally put it there is a mount for the F77 JB welded in place. its not going anywhere

i had enough on my way home from work today. i couldnt stand seeing that $330 camera flopping around like damp toast. i took out some pliers and broke the JB weld. i am returning this camera for sure and getting my money back, or at least putting it towards a better camera. thankfully i kept the box and everything. that camera was as good as useless flopping around and i would rather drive with no camera

probably not, my A229 Pro kept weakening microsd cards to the point where it wouldnt record. probably will not be getting another Viofo unless it has built-in memory

i ended up buying that one. apparently it comes with a free 256GB card at the moment, and that will last me until i can get an external SSD setup done, which i am glad it supports

I have the A229 Pro. Can you explain what is actually causing the micro sd cards to weaken. Curious what to look for because I don’t think I have had any issues.

i have no idea. all i know is that something is causing the microsd cards to last 6 months then the camera cries about "card slow"

Happened to me with several devices. It's the card, not the camera. Especially when the card is used a lot of times and gets overwritten a lot of times, the quality degrades. I had a lot of Samsung performance SD-cards with the same specs, bought in bulk. Some died very early and some I still use to this day.

mirco sd cards just dont have good durability to alot of writing best to buy the highest durability ones available sandisk and Samsung have a range of high write durability cards

It is preferable to choose a large capacity to avoid overwriting, but especially cards dedicated to their specific use, such as this one, for example :

i think im bordering on too many ideas at once, but i got a 3D scan of a few other things, and i had an idea for a custom headlamp switch to control a bunch of stuff.

i could put together a switch with 6 total buttons by combining the faceplate and left and right button clusters from specifically a 2025 F-150 PowerBoost, along with the rotating switch from an overseas Bronco or an Explorer Timberline. here's my thought process

for the PowerBoost part, it has to be specifically that because for 2025 Ford consolidated the mirror zone lighting to the headlamp switch on the right side; an area previously only used for the Mach-E traction control and overseas for headlamp leveling. this means that it has two buttons on either side.

for the Bronco part, this is thanks to european vehicles needing rear fog lights, but the Bronco also having front fogs, creating this switch.

the Explorer Timerline switch is pretty similar.

from there, i think its pretty safe to assume that the upper-left button will still release the trunk, but i will test to make sure. after that, i can find a matching color spray paint to the color of the plastic, blank out the buttons, then etch out my own icons on them and wire them up to do what i want. that will give me 5 blank buttons to do as i please with. the assembly part works because all of these switches are modular, just pieces that snap together. left button cluster, right button cluster, central cluster, and faceplate

a teardown reveals that this will likely work. they are modular, and the buttons are the membrane style ones
