New to the forum, My head hurts...
Been a Ford engine tech here in San Diego for 32 years, retired in 2022.

In the process of walking away from a 2024 Toyota Tacoma, lemon law...
Its going to sting a little as Ive done some heavy mods, $7k sound system, etc.
It's just a pavement princess though. toyota service dept has been horrible.

So think im ready to come back to what I know.

My head is spinning with all these options.

What I do know is a want an automatic.
Im 54, Im not looking to street race, track it, etc...
Just a fun daily driver, gyms, groceries, errands, etc, remember, Im retired.

These various packages are overwhelming,

Been reading most seem to think the performance package isnt worth it.?

What do you truly get with premium over a base GT?

What does everyone think about the 3:15 gears with the auto vs the 3:55, again, no intentions of really hammering on it.
Ive had a 91, 95, 2004.
My heavy engine mods, tunes, headers, catless, days are over...

Ill do the resonator delete / h pipe.
lower it.
I hate body roll & want to feel planted.
window tint
sound upgrade, pull all the equipment out of the Tacoma.
So getting the base 6 speaker system.
Contemplating white or the carbon grey

Def want the exhaust valve feature. In hopes it sounds great & not need to swap out mufflers.

Would I be truly missing anything going the 300a package & not the 301a for an additional $2100?
Just trying to make sense of all this.

Anyways, reading so much my head hurts.
Toss some insight my direction.

Also the 6 speaker system vs 9
Not much info out there.
The other 2 speakers are for the rear?
Is there an area to mount the 2 rears is you dont have the 9 speaker system.
Is there rear fad built into the audio system for those that just have a 6 speaker system?

Or correct me if im wrong...
the 9 speaker system is 3 ways up front, center ch, & 2 rears?
the 6 is just 2 way up front, a mid in the door & tweeter, then 2 rears?

300a owner checking in, the car is pretty damn nice, the base GT brakes are still brembos, the base sound system is excellent, I listen to rap and country.

recommend active exhaust 100%
if you’re sure there is no plan for boost, I’d get the 3:55s
I have the 3:15s and boost but with the 10 speed the gears still feel long.

Everyone is different and has different likes, but I’ve recently had a 2022 and now have a 2025 Mustang. Both convertible’s, as I love cruising backroads and these replaced my motorcycle days. I’m in my 70’s. I’d still have the 2022 if I had gotten the GT, but it was the EcoBoost. Lots of power, but not responsive like the V8 in the GT. I’m very happy with my GT. No dragstrip etc. Just wonderful cruising on backroads all over the USA. And I love the car!

So, I recommend:
MUSTANG GT PREMIUM
255/40R19 W-RATED TIRE
B&O SOUND SYSTRM, 12 SPKR
MINI SPARE WHEEL & TIRE
10-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANS
.3.15 RATIO LIMITED SLIP AXLE
Whatever APPEARANCE PACKAGE you might want, black, bronze etc
ACTIVE VALVE EXHAUST
Whatever floor mats you like

My 2019 had the equivalent of the 301A package. I liked the dual A/C & the power seats. I preferred the cloth seats at time but I'm getting spoiled by the leather & memory features on our Bronco Sport. I'm still waiting for Ford to announce the 2027 so I can spec it out. I'm leaning towards the 401A with the Bronze package.

Heres a question I cant seem to get a solid answer...
Would imagine all the Gt's have power seats.
Ford website states base non premium GT 301a has power seats, additional $2300
That means the base 300A package doesnt come with power seats?

If thats the case, doesnt it make more financial sense to just get the. base premium package?

The MSRP for the base 300A is $46,800, the 400A is $51,080, so if you want the 301A package that adds $2,300. If you prefer the cloth seats you are ahead $2,000.

I'm also considering ordering either a 26' or 27' once the window opens. I have never ordered a car and have one question. Do you just do your build online, print it out, and take it to different dealerships and try to haggle the best price?

I'm pretty sure I know what build I want as far as a 26' but not sure what difference the 27' will offer (maybe sync 5). I'm 61 and will not do any mods. Once I buy a car the only thing I change is the oil, tires, etc.

These are the specs I'm considering

Avalanche gray
Space gray interior
EQUIPMENT GROUP 401A
B&O SOUND SYSTEM, 12 SPKR
10-SPD AUTO TRANSMISSION
GT PERFORMANCE PACKAGE
ACTIVE VALVE EXHAUST
Spare Tire (If that is even an option with the size of the Brembo brakes)
MAGNERIDE DAMPING SYSTEM (I really don't know how different the ride will feel with this option)

Ah, a fully loaded example.

You are going to be quite satisfied with this build. The performance package stiffens the car up quite a bit even without Magneride, but with it, it'll feel even stiffer in the sportier modes, and very plush in the softer modes. Active Exhaust is another option I missed on my GT, and while I still love the sound of mine, having AE is gonna be a game changer.

If you're getting the performance package, you're not going to get a spare tire. You'll get an inflater/sealant kit instead.

Just remember to budget an extra wad of cash for winter tires, if you're in a colder area. The Pirellis are undrivable in the cold, as many of us will tell you from experience.

Outside of that, if you can't get in for a '27, just wait for the next generation.

Once you build the car in the configurator, you can email it to the dealer(s) of your choice. I emailed the 2 closest dealers, the one that acted like they "wanted" to sell me a car got my order.

Spare tire will have to be purchased aftermarket, the one Ford offers won't fit the performance package. Automotive Authority has spares that fit.

Magnaride is nice, smooth comfy cruising when you want, and much firmer handling when cranked up to track.
