I get the desire for a manual, they can be fun. My last fun car was a modded 2015 Z/28, but I got tired of driving a high powered manual on the street (and at the drag strip... ONCE). Back to an auto here for my DH with the mods I have planned.
well quit modding the darn things LOL. The automatics just get stale unless you are really driving it, whereas the manual requires more involvement/keeps the driver more occupied.

I was asking myself the exact same question. As others have pointed out I went with the DH because of the manual and the sound. Drive both the C8 and DH back to back. Looks C8 all day for me but wanted to enjoy the manual. I got the premium, HP non Recaro seats. Luggage for touring was a small consideration from the wife's perspective but not why I wanted either car. I bought when Ford gave the 3.5k rebate on top of the sale from a dealer somewhat close to my house. Most dealers I called used the same line of "This is a limited car" which its not. Walk away until you get the price you want. All together around 10k off with an MSRP around 79K with the options.

I’ve owned a C8 and currently own a DH with handling package. Get the C8 it’s superior in every way!
Only issue is C8 is impractical, automatic only, and Fugly!

Yeah, I paid $64k for my DH Premium with some options and while I love the car, don't think it's worth a penny more than that for what it is.
Same here 24 DH Premium - got $4k off msrp 15 months ago, car on lot in winter - $63k and that was the top of what I'd pay for the car. Same exact car is now over $70k which is a rip off IMO .
Don't get me wrong, love the car but there's a limit to how much Ford can bend me over!
Ordered my Mach 1 premium back in early 2021 for MSRP which was $56,500, that msrp also went up multiple times in 21 and 22

Agree to disagree on the Fugly part. I would also say I dont think ford done enough to make the DH look different from the GT. My opinion the DH SC hood should have been introduced on the DH or at least something more with the hood.

I like the C8 from the front. Most of them are ok from the side. The rear is hideous to me and I can't get over it lol.
Agreed, thats the part of the car I think looks horrible as well!

I agree that the DHSC hood should have come on the regular DH. But the regular DH front fascia looks the meanest out of all the S650's to me.

The C8 still has the Boomer car stigma attached to it in my mind, too. And almost to the person here, it's some OLD guy driving one. There are way more C8s running around than S650's here.

I 100% agree and when polling friends and family on DH vs C8 a common answer was Im not old enough to own a corvette. There was some research that was posted on a C8 forum about the average age of corvette owners. The C8 did bring the average age down.

It is also a Temu version of an Italian sports car (i.e. Ferrari) lol The Corvette died for the most part as the C7 IMO. The C7 was about perfect in every aspect, especially the Z06.

You may not like the looks, you may think the car is just for old farts like myself but the technology and performance of a C8 versus a DH is undeniable.

I’ve owned and driven both of these cars from the late 60s right up until today. My dad had a 65 K code convertible as well as a 1966 C2 big block. . I’ve had a 72 C3, a 1984 Vette, a 1990 ZR1 and a 2022 c8 I’ve had an 2008 GT500, a 2012 Boss 302, a 2015 50th anniversary GT and now, a DH with HP…..Love them all!!

Agreed. The numbers are the numbers, which are all useless if you can't fit in the car, let alone comfortably.

Well, funny enough you say that. In my 2022 C8, the primary reason letting it go was because it was extremely difficult gettingout of the car unless the top was off. Go view some of the videos on YouTube of old men trying to get out of exotic cars and you’ll see what I mean. By the same tokenWhile inside and driving, the car is extremely comfortable, as a matter of fact, way more comfortable than my DH HP. With Recaro seats.

Oh yeah, BTW, I often bump my head getting in and out if the DH, lol!

Not bragging but owned a bunch of sports cars in the last 25 years.
C5, 2 C6's, C7, 2020 ZL1, 2022 Blackwing. All were autos except the C5. Swore off buying another auto then I bought a Honda Type R Civic with a 6 speed manual.
The Honda was the most fun car I EVER owned. No, it certainly was not the fastest but it handled like it was on rails and I swear it would out handle any of the other cars I previously owned driving the tight and twisty roads of Tennessee where I lived when I owned it.
If I buy a DH it it purely for fun so manual it is. I don't give a crap about extracting the last tenth of a second off the 0-60 or 1/4 time.
However, I will not pay above MSRP for it.

I get what you're saying. But for me, a manual V8 seems like overkill. It's why I went with the auto. I test drove a GT manual and didn't have to take it out of 2-3 gear for most city driving. Seemed awkward for my style of driving.

I would do a manual in a turbo 4 cylinder all day, every day.

Now, if the sole intention is to track the car... manual all the way.
