Are you applying the spray when wet before final dry off or after drying? With wet or dry micro fiber?
Always after the car is dry. Although, it probably doesn't matter. I just don't like having water sitting on painted surfaces. I'm old and slow. I only use dry microfiber cloths and spray a small amount onto the car, then wipe immediately in many different directions, never a single direction. As a matter of fact, I don't touch my paint with my bare hands anywhere on the car. Even when closing the trunk, I will use a microfiber cloth to partially close the trunk, throw the cloth into the trunk, and use the brake light to close the trunk. I'm sure many think I'm crazy, but what are you going to do when your best friend is OCD! Glenn

Car looks great Glenn! Try using a damp (not wet) micro fiber towel, spray the product on and wipe in one direction. Do one panel or section at a time. After you wipe it on, flip the towel over to the dry side (or use a finishing towel) and then go back over and polish the area. The product will go on more evenly and buff shinier with this method. 👍🏻

Im sure the peanut gallery will question my evasive driving skill or someother nonsense. So here is a dash cam still photo. I had to slow it down to .25 just to see it. Video shows it came out between the back of his cab and trailer as I was passing. There was less than .5 seconds from it popping up to impact. But thanks to my dash cam I have a video proof and a license plate for a claim against the trucking company.

were I live, about 30 years ago police found a car that had crashed there was a t shaped hole in the windshield and the drivers head was smashed and she was dead. At first they thought she was shot. However turned out the hose cap from a fire hydrant was on the road and a semi truck picked it up in his wheels and sent it through the car. The truck was going about 70 miles per hour.

So Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Am sure you will get it back like new. About three years ago we were driving down a highway with construction going on and a TURKEY behind one of the construction barrels flew directly into my windshield and busted it up. It took seven weeks to get a GM replacement windshield. As God is my witness I did not know turkeys could fly.

My biggest fear on bikes was loose crap falling off trucks and such. It's not much better in cars. We had a young guy killed when low lifes threw a boulder off an overbridge and through his screen.
I gave no warnings for insecure loads.

So after nearly a year, I just have found out last washing, that the bottoms of the car’s ppf like doors and lower parts are not repelling water any more like other top surfaces still do. Despite using Gyeon Spray ceramic solution. I have decided I will do proper ceramic coating by my self by using Gyeon Q2 ppf. I will do iron removal prior coating, right?

The spray seems not lasting long enough…

The sprays dont last and arent a substitute for a real hard coating. Use a PPF cleaner before you do anything. My guess is there is too much product building up on it right now. If you don't opt for CERAMIC there are specific topper products made to use on PPF.

EDITED TO CHANGE PPF TO CERAMIC.

Your insurance should do an indemnity claim and go after the trucking company with that video by the way.

I mentioned this is a previous post above.

I didn't go this route because Id still have to file the claim that would go against my policy. Yes, my insurance would have gone after the trucking company. But there was no guarantee of a payout, and it simply wasnt worth it to save a few hundred dollars after paying my deductible and a potential rate increase next year.

Im glad I did this because shortly after my wife broke her windshield for the 4th time in 3 years. We already have enough claims against us. 🤦🏻

Can you elaborate on “too much product” & topper product

?

Yeah, so true. I have basic MTPL for 300$. Me no chance even if I hit the whole truck with rocks 😂

Wow! Sorry to hear this.

My new Audi (years ago) got a rock chip on the way home from the dealership. It split all the way up the windshield before the window guy could repair it.

My wife's new Explorer ST got a rock chip within the first month, but a local repair guy fixes the small chip so you cannot even see it. Whew! And it was pretty cheap. I think that is all I have ever had for windshield damage from rocks.

At least you didn't get taken out by a 30lb turkey like I did! Hit the nose, dented the hood, and smashed through the windshield, and buckled the roof. I was driving and the overhead console and rearview smacked my husband on the brow of his eye....Gave him a really bad black eye for about 2 weeks. I have a 3-4 month or longer wait on my Grabber Blue RTR. Before and after pic....didn't realize the damage it had done to the other parts, because of the rain in the tow truck yard.
