I've had the Hurst in my 07 GT since new and am very used to the maximum throw reduction at the cost of being a slow, retro, touring-type shifter that is not ideal for racing. If I get an s650 I was planning on sticking with the Hurst but I haven't found a single review anywhere on it. Everyone seems to be taking the MGW and the Barton. The only vids I've seen on the Hurst are the installations.

To be fair the s197's tr3650+ body-mounted shifter and rail flex are awful; first to second grannyshift under load requires you to give it a minute and I even get locked out of a grannyshift into third if I'm too hyper about it. Barton and MGW have the arms on each side for a better toploader feel with the MT-82. Hurst is still doing the single connection point but at least with the ears on the top and center of the MT-82 I imagine it's somewhat of an improvement over the tr3650 with the side mount. TIA preesh.

Not since my 69 Camaro in 78/79 time frame.

It was fun to watch people try to shift with it

Stock shifter is very competent. I had a Barton on my last MT82 car, coupled with stainless clutch line and trans x-member bushing/brace.

it worked but overall noise/vibration/ harshness added was noticeable.

Why did you start two threads in shifters? You are all over the place brother.

Not since 2000 when we installed one on the M20 in my 65 GTO - In that instance, the Hurst is the best option out there. For modern transmissions, not so much. Just about no one went the Hurst route for the 2004-2006 GTO either.
