We have to accept that some adulls here still want to believe in Santa even when they know he's fake.
WHAT? :curse: Say it isn't so! I know he's real because just last week I lost a tooth, and he left me a dollar on my pillow.

No, wait, that was someone else.

Never mind.

It least we have pictures, much less the evidence from half eaten snacks. Sheesh talk about fake noise.

Any recordings?
The difference is subtle and would be hard to capture without setting up directional microphones. The first thing I noticed after disabling ESE is that the engine sound is now coming entirely from behind with the windows rolled up.

That was the good fairy. The one you have to worry about coming into your bedroom is the bad fairy.

I will simply add I have disabled ESE on my Ecoboost with active exhaust and noticed a big difference. The engine sound was much more deep and throaty with it on. While it sounded good, I didn't like the idea of it being fake.

My guess is it's much more noticeable on the Ecoboost because... well... It's half the damn cylinders and I've never heard a 4 cylinder engine sound anywhere near as good as a V8.

Here’s a half decent article discussing the theory.

Fairy, why did the assumption materialize with make believe? I almost assumed some john knocked her tooth out since the tooth fairy puts the reward under the pillow. 🤣

The active exhaust has a physical component too (actual butterfly valves) I also run in quiet mode or normal alot for similar reasons to OP. But my "Star" button goes to Track Exhaust. Mine is a 301a and cant tell if is any synthetic speaker sounds myself

Almost any high power N/A 4 with ITB's sounds great, but not as great as a cross plane V8.

I disabled ESE today on my Dark Horse and it’s noticeable. Quiet Mode is really quiet and at highway cruising Normal is pretty quiet too. With Normal you still hear it when you step on the throttle and Sport and Track mode even more so but it’s more exhaust notes and not just noise.

Does not appear to be on the GT... just the ECO...
Thank God! This thread was depressing me! Not to mention if my GT Vert, in track mode, was any louder, I would be arrested! As far as I'm aware my GT Vert isn't using speakers! Glenn

So you changed the speaker and noticed a difference? Weird, i’d been disappointed if it didn’t, probably would have wanted my money back.
Except for the fake exhaust noises causing an absolute racket with the new sub. Thanks for the quality contribution.
