Does rev matching work on both downshift and upshift? In other words, if rev matching is on, can you upshift while keeping the throttle floored without runaway revs?

Im not a stick shift driver, I know how but dont own one. I think the rev match is only on the downshifts..someone will chime in that has a stick.

Yes, it has no lift shift. I can't say I have used it though.

I know it auto-blips on down shifts (although it's a little slow due to the fact it's a heavy reciprocating mass street/production engine... but for what it is... it gets an A-). I have zero idea about it's ability to do flat foot-upshifting. I've used it forever on race cars (sequential pneumatically shifted), but I don't recall ever seeing that on a conventional helical-gear transmission (not sure if that's even possible).

*Edit* Just looked it up... I guess it does but it's not a true "flat foot upshift". You have to still use the clutch. In a race car... the clutch is only used to take off from a stop. It's never used on the track. So this (S650) is interesting... I guess you "old-school" it... flat foot... hit the clutch... pull the lever... and let the clutch out.

Seems sort of useless and more towards warranty protection (kinda like the restrictor in the clutch line that slows the clutch engagement). To be fair... that's probably why there's the auto-blip down shift functions :-)

Is the restrictor located within the the OEM elbow fitting and does the McLeod kit eliminate it? I'm spoiled how well the auto rev-match works on my Mach 1 down-shifts and I haven't noticed any problems with clutch engagement, upshifting or downshifting.

It's rev hang on up-shifts that really bothers me. It's only seems to occur on WOT or near WOT conditions where the ECU is predicting I want to continue WOT upshifts but I'm trying to dial down the throttle and it won't obey my pedal command.

I can feel the restrictor when I let out the clutch fast in neutral. On the DD car, not an issue. I'm sure it's a warranty thing (make sense as does the downshift rev-match function). I'm confused at exactly how it works on WOT upshift when you have to use the clutch. It must rpm restrict the engine. In this case, it's not a throttle blip... it's a decrease in rpms. Seems odd and not sure how it accomplishes that.

Odd coming from the race car world lol.
