I think interest rates has a ton to do with this, I just bought a pick up and rate was only 4.99%… back when I bought my 2024 it was in the 7s and I’m top tier Fn credit

Cheap money is back on the menu for now.

I don't care why it went up. Just that it went up. Strong sales keep Ford making more Mustangs in the future.

S650 is an amazing Mustang. especially with the V8. (The dashboard is just shit with tablets). Sales should go up much higher.

I believe Mustang sales are rising because a lot of police departments and state patrol are buying Mustangs.

I would say that's possibly a contributing factor, but dealer discounts and incentives from Ford on 25's are likely driving this sales increase, along with (marginally) reduced interest rates. Most car buyers don't suddenly decide they want a Mustang - it's the ones on the fence who are pulling the trigger right now (because of the above-mentioned reasons) that are boosting the sales numbers.

You do realize sales have been rising since April of 2025 right? This isn't an end of year thing. Theyve been rising for about nine months.

Not to temper the mood....much, This months sales is about half of the last generation mustang sold monthly, it averaged over 6k per month over 7 or 8 years? and had competition from the Camaro and Challenger lot of those years...now there is no real competition and its sales seem to be actually languishing a little imo...I guess it depends on how you look at it...

3500 units and its your only car and no direct competitor....I think it should be better...I also think they have priced the car well out of range for too many buyers...but who knows. I still may buy one yet...lol

Why do you think the competition doesn't exist anymore? Because they couldn't sell enough. So if the mustang is growing in sales, it's a good thing. January is always the lowest month. The s650 has been growing in sales since a few months into 2025, and that's after they raised the price by 5-6k on avg. And we're going to be into year 4 of the s650 later this year lol So no matter how it's spun, growing sales by 50 percent is a good thing.

The Challenger didn't die because of sales nor do I think the Camaro did though it probably didn't help......It was more politics than anything imo (and can't really get into that here) The Challenger outsold the Mustang a few times and was frequently close to it after they did the refresh in 2015...

I also don't think you can hang your hat on that 50%...Its a one month deal and there are still a lot of leftover 25's out there that are being discounted......what you really want to see is sales getting back to the previous Gen's monthly average at least imo...Like i said its doesn't really have a competitor right now. I'm not spinning but you might be...but that's ok.

edit for I looked within 250 miles of me and there are about 1000 new Mustangs on dealer lots and there are still about 400 25's mixed in with them still unsold. There are still 9 new 2024's not sold...

Again, it's not a one month thing like you keep saying. They have been steadily rising since early/mid 2025. You're the one spinning saying 50% rise isn't good 😂
