We had a female DUI driver crash through a gate at the airport I work at (yes, in FL...) 4 or 5 years ago in the middle of the night. She damaged 2 Cessnas when she ran through the gate, crashed over a taxiway sign, and hit a Lear Jet parked on the ramp before she was caught. In my state's...
Just curious, but what was the process and cost like for getting the unit paint matched? I would seriously consider doing that if it isn't cost prohibitive.
'Fun' is an understatement! I'm sure it can be too much depending on how you drive the car - I have no doubt it's easy to spin the...
I know it's a bit of a drive, but VMP performance down by Daytona Beach did mine - the dealer I bought my Mustang from was clueless, and I saved $2-3k over what my local dealers wanted for a Whipple with installation. Plus, they often have them in stock and ready - no waiting to order one.
At the end of the day, to each their own. Both have their advantages.
Auto: better fuel economy, faster, and easier.
Manual: a true driving experience, and fun.
Fellow 47-year-old kid here - mine is mostly a weekend driver (i.e. a toy). I choose FUN!
Everyone should do what makes them...
If I was worried about winning a race, I probably wouldn't have a Mustang to begin with. I (like I assume most other manual drivers) got it because it's FUN to drive.
Remember, in life, happiness is not automatic.
If you're talking about the ambient lighting (in the footwells and inside the door handles), mine does that too. I have mine set to red; when I turn the car off and open the door, it changes to a white(-ish) color, but my doorsill logos remain red. When I turn the car back on, it goes back to...
I'd like to have them as well, or at least something else more custom than 'whipple superchargers' on mine. Let me know if you find a way to get them, or something else.
Yeah, nothing new here. Ford is just trying to capture a bigger chunk of the aftermarket performance parts market directly, instead of watching their customers spend their extra money elsewhere. The kit has been on the Ford Performance website for over a year now, and it implies that any Ford...
This is an excellent write-up - thank you (and this isn't even something I need/want)!
Welcome to the forums - you clearly have a lot to contribute to this community - keep it up!
You're going to enjoy it - it's almost insane when you really punch it. Mine feels like an airplane wanting to take off if I mash the throttle down hard enough.
Seatbelts would be cool (it's a factory option this year, so there are factory parts for it), but expensive. Maybe buy duplicates of the carbon fiber-look trim pieces (vent surrounds, dash top, door trim, etc.), paint them, and then swap them? After that, I think you'd be looking at custom...
I'm in the same boat - it was either custom order a '26, or find something I wanted in '25 stock. Thank goodness for the internet... The homelink, and to a lesser extent the lighted door sills, were important to me. They should have remained as options, even if at an extra cost.
I'm happy...
It's been much colder than normal across most of the US the past few weeks - greater temperature differential between your engine and the ambient air = more
visible evaporation (vapor).
I'm not saying that is 100% the answer, but if I were a betting man...
I would say that's possibly a contributing factor, but dealer discounts and incentives from Ford on 25's are likely driving this sales increase, along with (marginally) reduced interest rates. Most car buyers don't suddenly decide they want a Mustang - it's the ones on the fence who are pulling...
Looking sharp! Don't feel too bad about the comments - I have a Wimbledon White convertible myself, and it's been too cold to drive it here in Florida for weeks now...
I don't do a lot of highway driving, but I caught mine averaging about 24-25mpg going 77-84mph on the interstate on the drive back home from getting my Whipple installed. The kit didn't seem to make any difference in mileage cruising on the interstate. I don't drive mine very hard (still...
I like it. I actually pulled the stripes off the sides of mine because I like a clean, simple look and I thought the red of the '60 years' stripes clashed a bit much with the Carmine interior, but that does look nice. I'd post pictures of mine, but it's too @#$% cold here in FL...
FHP has a number of unmarked S550 Mustang GTs all over the state. More in South Florida than up North, but they're out there (there's a silver one in my county). No exterior markings or lights, dark tinted windows, and no loud colors (i.e. no grabber blue, yellow or orange ones) - the only...
