I just got a PPI done on a 2025 Mustang GT I am interested in that is out of state. Everything came back good except for Milky residue being visible on the underside of the oil filler cap and inside the fill neck and the coolant reservoir level being below the recommended mark, though no external leaks were seen. The car still has over 2 years left on the factory warranty so I am wondering if these are major concerns or if I should go ahead and purchase the vehicle? I have attached photos of the oil filler cap, dip stick and coolant levels.

Lemon Squad did my PPI, they seem really thorough but they did not mention a compression test in the report.

if its just the cap, thats oil/water from moisture in the cold. long as the oil on the dipstick doesnt look like that.

coffee milkshakes on oil caps and even dip sticks are normal in cold climates where condensation gets in.

That is why you have to get a car warm when you start it for the water to boil off when the oil comes up to temp and the PCV system sucks it out.

My Kawasaki's sight glasses looked like that in the winter, but fire the bike up and get it hot and it burned off.

Now as for the low coolant, that is a Hmmm moment, as we had one member here have an unexplained loss of coolant in very small amounts, the bottle level would drop and there were no visible signs of leaks... I think he got an engine out of Ford for his trouble.

If it is at a Ford dealer tell them you want the vehicles service and warranty history and you want it Ford Gold Certified at their cost. That will give you the balance of a 7 yr 100K warranty

Its Ceratec. The Liquimoly additive that everyone uses to stop the BBQ tick. Its normal and expected when you put in the correct amount of ceratec. Two bottles for the 5.0 and you do it after every oil change. That stuff is awesome and works perfectly to help quiet down the engine and also has proven to help gas mileage. Google coyote and ceratec. You'll see. Makes the oil look like chocolate milk or heavy cream coffee. Completely safe and everyone should be using it honestly.

The expansion tank level fluctuates in different temperatures. And many report they are under filled from the factory.

How many miles on the car?

Only 2500 miles. It was driven for less than a month before the original owner sold it.

.....IMO you don't need Ceratec and shouldn't use it. Instead use FULL synthetic and if you don't want the BBQ tic pre-fill your oil filter (two steps) at every oil change.

Neither full synthetic or filling the filter prevents BBQ tick. Not sure where you got that from. And there's nothing wrong with Ceratec. But lets not derail the thread as there a million threads on that.

OP - as long as the oil on the dipstick is OK, I wouldn't be concerned. If you're worried you can always test the oil.

Car is out of state. Can you offer where or a link to the ad? We can help scrutinize it.

The dealer can always say anything, but I'd ask why the vehicle was returned in the first month.

Ask the dealer for an Oasis Report. The report will list all warranty work Ford performed on that vehicle.

@AZ_Ryan ..... so you know the cause of the BBQ tic? Wow, you should go on a speaking tour. The advice I was given was from a family member who was a GM engine engineer, family members (who I helped when younger) build race engines, and a Ford engineer i spoke with. Using a Full synthetic, changing it regularly and pre-filling your oil filters is your best bet against engine tic. Putting any kind of additive in this generation of Coyote just makes some dude rich as he laughs all the way to the bank. BTW I have been pre-filling oil filters for decades - not a new concept.
