What? The S650 Shelby were out before any silly GTDs. In fact, Ford and Multimatic have taken design cues from Shelby.

The GTD was probably in development before any S650 Shelby American variant. Plus it looks better than any product those guys have put out. The front of the cars looking nothing alike.
