Watched it last night over in my Focus RS forum. You're right, it is a good video. (e.g. LOT'S of drifting around corners, really cool engine/car sounds, great commentary, NO dumb*** sound track music)! 👍

OK, I'm biased, but I love the look of the GTD (it's a flash S650), the sound is pure V8 with blower scream, the handling and grip appears to be world class, you won't see one everywhere you go.
Serious engineering has gone into it. The price is a shocker, but you can see where it went.
The ZR1, not so much. It's quicker, but doesn't sound like it. I don't like flat plane cranks until they're at 9k rpm. They said the ZR1 handles like a good road car, the GTD is a level or three above that.
But the looks really don't float my boat. It's like a non Italian tried to design a Ferrari. Too many angles and vents, and they made it worse by making the vents contrast with the body colour.
Just too bitsy.
Just my $400,000 worth.

Not a completely surprising conclusion, but fun to watch:

The GTD should be compared to the Camaro not the Corvette. Oh wait there is no Camero. So lets compare their Mustang GTD to a car that is lighter and has over 200 more horsepower bigger tires. But that just shows how good or little Mustang is.

How good is it? It can't even beat a non-race car that's half the price.

Since when has a Corvette not been seen as a race car style. If not for all the markup and price fuckery I have no clue what a real world price would be for either.

GTD is literally built on a bespoke front and rear suspension, custom transaxle, by a race shop.... Corvette rolls of a production line

it uses an off the shelf part by a Ford Partner, Multimatic
it uses a DCT that the Corvette is also using
it uses a bored out version of the stock Coyote block
Corvette uses the LT6 which was originally designed for the GT3 car and put into the Z06 as a homologation

If the vette is already catching air how much quicker will it really get? That solid slab of grunt sounds like it inspired more confidence. gtd everytime everyday otherwise it’s just another off the shelf gm loss leader pretending to be some sort of exotic import fighter.

That suspension is not an off the shelf part....

Multimatic has been making DSSV suspension since 2002. they did not make this suspension system for the GTD, they modified the stock GT chassis they pull off the line to support their already existing system
