After a lot of trial and error we have figured it out. The odd chime everyone heard and then it just stopped is still in there just waiting. We tried every combo to figure it out and here it is:
1. Odviously you need the key fob on you or in the car.
2. Open the driver door and get in but do NOT close the driver door.
3. Do NOT put on the driver's seat belt.
4. Push the Start button to start the car

THAT is when you will hear the chime you thought just stopped. It did not. You just changed your start the car routine.
