How did they mess it up? Twice? Two weeks? Sweet baby Jesus. 🙄

and my BCM recall scheduled for 11-Nov-25 was cancelled due to that Ford dealership not having...a body shop. Now I have to call around to find a Service center with a body shop to perform this recall service.

You all are correct - that's just sloppy recall design repair and work to leave a black caulk bead that's hand flattened and not of body color.

This seems like a body shop restoration job rather than a fix. I wouldn’t let the dealer touch my car for this. There must be a better fix or time to take a different route?

Part of me is waiting for 6 months to a year from now, so Ford can issue a new recall saying this one didn't work, and a class action lawsuit gets filed.

my thoughts as well.. got a handful of software updates recently about pre checks before car turn on. So I’ll wait - I don’t like the way it is being done/handled. It’s not a Corolla.

I took mine to the dealer yesterday. Got a call saying the only mechanic in the shop that could do the recall called in sick. I left the car overnight. Today, the only guy who could work on it had a baby and wouldn’t be in this week at all. Grabbed the car and brought it home.

Good decision.

I'm somewhere between waiting and never getting it done. My car isn't going to see rain, snow or salt.
I've had a couple of unplanned rainstorms in the last couple of months. And I typically wash my car every couple weeks because it's my daily. So at this point, if it were going to leak, it would have happened already.

I've never noticed a leak or have had wet carpet. I suppose I should pull the panels and inspect the BCMs to make sure there isn't something I can't see. But im not sure if you have to open the BCMs or what that procedure would be. Maybe someone here can post a more detailed how-to.

Same here. Not my daily driver so it is not gonna see rain, snow or salt either. Do not plan on having it done on this current recall. If there is a new one out that seems better I might. But count me one as a no-go at this time.

I just hate appointments and since every dealer seems to do it differently with different methods and time frames, it just seems like a BS bandage fix.
When did they learn to read clocks and calendars?

From what I'm told I have the option to not do the recall but if something happens in the future Ford won't be rsponsible. If anyone has a copy of the entire recall I would love to read it to see exactly what they are going to do.
This 👆🏽!!! I am due to have my Service done soon and I’m not willing to let them damage the car by doing some “repair” and not making it better than before. Not sure which way to lean on this …
