OK, then the battery might be badly sulphated and dead as a dodo. Which will not be covered by warranty. I'd throw a new quality one in.
OK, just read the last post. If it takes a charge get them to do a load test on it.
This thread is a great example of how to over think a battery problem and make it complicated. 😆 A $20 volt meter takes most of the guess work out. Just sayin.

I would have have that thing swapped out and been on the road with a new battery yesterday. Oh well. Glad its getting taken care of.

Battery is covered under 3/36 warranty. This thread is also an example of the general lack of understanding of AGM batteries and the complicated BMS system that Ford now has in place to "keep them at their peak performance". Not just a simple alternator w/regulator throwing 13.5-14.3 volts at a battery anymore.

Not on convertibles. Read above.
Did not know that thanks. I'm old it's funny when we were young we never locked our convertibles. It was cheaper to replace a cassette deck or sunglasses than have to pay for a new top because the thieves would just cut the top and open the door.

Going to a multimeter from a test light was the best thing i did in my tool collection

Here is what they had to say:

"STARTED VEHICLE PULLED INTO BAY. SCANNED DTC'S FOUND CODES FOR LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE. PERFORMED BATTERY TEST USING FORD CPX-900 BATTERY TESTER. TEST CAME BACK TO RECHARGE AND RETEST THE BATTERY. CHARGED BATTERY FOR 30MINS THEN ALLOWED VEHICLE TO SIT OUT SIDE. PULLED VEHICLE BACK INTO BAY, HOOK UP THE ROTUNDA DCA-8000 BATTERY TESTER, PERFORMED BATTERY DAIG OUT OF VEHICLE. FOUND THE BATTERY IS OKAY AND IS BEING CHARGED THE REST OF THE WAY FOR SERVICE. PERFORMED BMS AFTER HOOKING BATTERY BACK UP FROM TESTING."

I'm an absolute noob when it comes to multimeters. But doing a voltage test ain't rocket science.

Maybe you left an accessory light on and drained the battery. Either way, if the battery is good I'd love to know how you attempted to charge the battery and "nothing happened".

I'll post a picture of my battery tender connection later to show you.

I mentioned this earlier but I used a NOCO 5 charger and hooked it up properly, the same manner that the roadside assistance guy hooked up his jump starter. Another owner on this thread mentioned that once the battery is completely dead the 5 amp (or even the 10) will not charge it back up unless you disconnect the battery from the vehicle.

This is true, these newer battery chargers will not charge unless they detect residual voltage, usually around 9-10 volts. AGM batteries need a specific AGM charger. Hopefully they charged the battery for longer than 30 mins before resetting the BMS. Takes a little longer than that to bring the battery back to a full state of charge that the BMS is going to try to maintain.

So why was it dead?

🤔

So why was it dead?

🤔
Same question I asked. What caused it to die when sitting for 9 days? When I drove it to the dealer I didn't see anything left on or connected. My cell phone charger wasn't even plugged in. I can't think of anything I even could have left on.

I think all of the interior / accessory lights now have timers on them. Unless the limit got bumped from FORSCAN or something.

I'm sayin'.

You're assuming it only took 9 days to discharge, but 9 days is only the measurement to the last drive cycle, the discharging could have been slow, implicating a much longer period.

In either case, your unanswered question is in need of follow up.
Put a camera on the car from the rear so you can see the taillights and cabin. See if the car is 'waking up' randomly.

@samson on the convertibles there is a lock on the driver's side beside the rear seat back. Push the edge of the seat back over and you should see the lock cylinder, use your emergency key to unlock the trunk.

Are there things I can turn off if I know the car is going to sit for a long period of time? I've heard people say to turn off the wifi. Is there anything else that draws power that can be disabled manually?
