I have a 25 GT manual and just attended the Mustang unleashed where we drove all Dark Horse. Frankly I really could not tell much difference as we are only talking 15 hp. As far as the trimec 6 speed it is a bit shorter shift but again not enough for me to drop another 20 grand. The suspension on the dark horse is a bit firmer on the track but daily driving I notice no difference. Both cars are amazing and you can’t go wrong with either. Not to say I may not upgrade one day for nostalgia and collector reasons

I also went from Mach 1 to DH.
So after all those cars, you’re satisfied with the DH , or need to trade it for the gt500?
Manual or stick on the stangs?
DH will go all in for the GT500 - not to brag or sound like an ass - but that’s just smidgeon of cars I’ve had. They come they go … wish I kept my 21 GT500 that’s why I’m chasing a new one …

No offense but you couldn’t tell the difference because you’re not trained to know - or feel the difference are you …?

PLEASE don't take this the wrong way. we're all brothers and sisters here and i hate seeing the back and forth. but i've got to say this. the dealer and i were unsure of ford picking up my dark horse order. i optioned the most similar spec night pony manual gt (you know just in case) and from what i remember, the price difference came out to somewhere close to 3k. for me, that was worth the tremec trans and exclusivity (which has faded a bit). i did run a manual gt and i would argue the gt might be a better cruiser and the dark horse you really don't appreciate until you REALLY push the car. understand though, the dark horse would have been what, another 5k more for HP if they would've built it with michelins (i didn't want the trofeo tires and honestly don't think my order would've been built)

No offense taken. It was just my opinion for the additional cost of the fully loaded dark horse. I have driven laps in the dark horse on the Roval at Charlotte and yes the dark horse handles better hands down. Magniride suspension or whatever it’s called haha. A funny thing though when it came to auto cross the eco boost won that thing has mad power and the dark horse wants to end around in tight turns. Both in track mode. You will

I'm very happy with the DH. Previously owned a S550 GT coupe and GT premium convertible. The DH is worth the price difference IMHO.

Curious on how happy you all are that have Dark Horses currently? Any regrets on getting the dark horse over a premium GT? I have a 25 400A GT premium currently & debating on going the dark horse way next time I trade in the future. Do many of you use it for daily driving? I would not take it to the track. would most likely just go with the 600A trim level with no additional options to keep cost lower, they come pretty well optioned out. Only thing I wish the 600A came with is the cooled seats, those are nice to have. Thanks!
I don't see any reason why Dark Horse owners would not be happy comparing the Dark Horse with the GT. Wgat does the GT have what the Dark Horse doesn't?

Now, I am waiting on an allocation from my dealer for one of the new GT 500’s when Ford finally gets off the crapper on building those supposed to be 26 model year with a guesstimate of North of $100k …

Moral of the story - don’t settle buy what your heart desires …👍🏻
I’ll have to dig up the latest info on the GT500, it has been rumored for so long I lost track. I wonder if it will end up being naturally aspirated or have a supercharger?

Nothing really new on this front. We know it cannot be named GT500 as there no longer an affiliation between Ford and Shelby. Also it would be likely the engine will have to be FI as 500HP is about as much as NA Coyote has got.

I think the question is -“What does the Dark Horse have - that the GT can’t have” …?

Answer: plenty 👍

Fair point. For the average non-pro driver, you won't see a difference. Get them both out on a proper track and push them to the limit and you'll see a Dark Horse brutalizing corners at speed and a GT wadded up against the railings.

You’re being nice - more like riding the railing and flipping over 🫣 the GT exhaust tips look like the last piece of tin foil on the Reynolds wrap roll - 🤣🤣🤣

ive had bad experiences with beat down turbo cars way back that turn me away... but those are probably beasts when built right with their balance

I have a dark horse on order. Optioned out there wasn’t a huge price difference between a 401A and 700A. You get slightly more customizability with the 401A and slightly more track oriented functionality on the 700A. My take was I wanted the blue stitched interior, and the extra cooling and the Tremec 6M and the special badges, as personally I think the dark horse badges are awesome. I did not want the handling pack nor the recaros as I won’t be tracking the car. I just want to know that I could track the car while doing a sick pull in 2nd gear going to get grocerys at HEB, cutting off as many karens in Tahoes as I can while my butt is cooled off by the vented seats. Realistically it will be a garage queen and weekend errand cruiser.
