Water intrusion is an issue especially when these sub miniature connectors are involved because the slightest bit of corrosion drives the modules nuts, and when it comes to liability insurance appraisers like myself will do constructive total losses on water damaged vehicles ( sunroof drains blocked, sunroof left open) or cars that have been exposed to flood, especially salt water ones because we can't guarantee without thousands and thousands of dollars worth of parts and labor that 3 years from now when the car is in a accident that the air bags, seat belt tensioners, and such will work properly.
That is one heck of a sentence

I have learned 2 topical lessons related to this subject.

1) be happy they're recalling before you take delivery. I went in for service on my Ducati 1198s once only to be grounded, on the spot. "There's a recall on your bike, we have to check the fuel line fittings for leaks." Before thinking, I spoke (stupidly): "Can't I just ride it home, bring it back ..."
Spider interrupts me: "Dude, your bike could spontaneously combust"
Me: "Yeah, I'll get a ride home"

2) Weather proof connectors.... AMIRITE? I wired in some aux lights on my Raptor for use on Reverse and aux switch, with my fancy weatherproof relay. It was a relay, but it was not weather proof. One night I look outside "Hey, Neighbor Terry got a new rear porch light". He actually referred to my outside lights as "The light from God" so I didn't think much about this.
I came out in the AM and didn't think anything of it. Over the next few days, I did get high beamed a few times from behind, again, not thinking anything of it because it was No. Virginia, which is overrun with former New Yorkers whose favorite road pastimes are hogging the left lane, flipping you off and high beaming you.

Over that weekend I came out side and noticed my rear facing lights were on. WTF... weird. I cycled the switch and they turned off, made a mental note to check the relay the next day. That night, Neighbor Terry's yard was light up like a stadium so I went out and checked - he did not have a porch light to compete with the Light from God, it was my rear facing truck lights...

I pulled the relay apart to find it filled with water, "weatherproof" connector be damned. I swapped relays and wrapped the daylights out of it (no pun) with rubber and electrical tape. No more issues with the lights coming on unintended. I had not been in any spectacular wet conditions, nothing more than normal rainfall, so lesson learned.

Lastly, for all you guys with Mustangs in jail, have the dealer hire you as a lot porter or something, with your "salary" being the take home vehicle you bought. You won't be taking delivery, as such ...

Has anyone checked for water in the right passenger foot area, behind the right passenger kick panel, etc after washing their car or after driving in the rain? If water found, would you share exact location and how much? I know one member talked about his door had a leak, but that was a separate issue he had and was not this problem and different location as I understand it.

Thanks! None in mine after washing car and lots of water in the front cowl/wiper area.

Since the recall notice I have been checking the foot well area after rain and every time I wash it and so far dry as a bone.

Sounds like possible leak somewhere on the body as well as windshield. This is updated on my FordPass app also. I’ll try to get mine done when I get my winter prep oil change done in late October.

Well, it's raining here in Phoenix. And my car is uncovered at work. Guess I'm about to have a leak test whether I want it or not. Lol

I'm close to being due for an oil change, so I'll wait until then to take it tonthe dealer.

For some reason we now have multiple threads going on this. I just saw pictures of the "fix" in another thread, and all they do is slather seam sealer on two places and it looks like absolute shit.

I just had a major down pour with my car outside and went to inspect for leaks. Both floor boards and kick panels are dry as a bone. Unless it just goes behind the kick panels and doesn't make it to the carpet, I don't seem to have any problem. No way am I taking it in for that hack job fix.

I brought my 2025 GT 6 speed in for the water intrusion recall 10-3-25. I read somewhere the parts aren't available until 2026 Q1. Then the dealership said they could do it now. At check-in, the dealer said they needed the car a day, then they said 3 hours: 1 for sealer, 2 for drying time. I'd sure like to know how Ford goofed on the design.
