So for Chicago fall winter spring months I just bought some SVE CFX 20” staggered wheels 10” & 11” wide for my Dark Horse .
Only all-season choice in the 305/35 tire for the rears is either Michelin Pilot Sport all season 4 or Pirelli p zero all-season that is an original equipment tire for $400 less.
I’m confused about this original equipment tire .. is this sub-par as the tire was meant for other cars ?
I like the summer p zero that came on the car.
What should I do?
Is the Michelin a superior all season tire?
I won’t be driving in snow, just colder weather

I run Michilln pilot sport all season 4’s and I love them. I have driven in the rain, snow, and sunshine, and they have never let me down. The only other A S tire I would even consider is the continental dws06plus which is also very very good but a little cheaper.

Thanks for the reply!
I love the Conti DWS and DW, had them on 2 previous Mustangs. Also just got them on my wife’s X5.
Problem is the DWS doesn’t come in this size. I would need to go up to a 315/35 which is starting to get pretty tall on the rear

Got it, yeah I would definitely pay the 400 more for the michillins in that case.

I have the Pilot Sport all season 4 as well... great tire, also use the DWS06 on the S550. Both are great, probably prefer the Michelin, but the DWS06 is cheaper and a bit higher mileage rated (though not available in you size). The latest Pzero all season ranks well at tire rack, but no experience with them. Try em and let us know!

OEM tires are not likely sub par... though may have some tread or compound differences from the retail version. I have some OEM PS All season 4 on another car, they omitted the circle siping and were shaved by 1/32 (perhaps for better ride?). Was looking at some other OEM tires, the size I selected for the rear had a much lower treadwear rating (better traction?) than the front that were retail.

My biggest concern with OE tires is that I’m putting a OE tire go bmw on rear and or tire for dodge on front. Could this affect performance?

That I can't say for sure... the OEM tires I have on one car are all 4 the same. The ones I was looking at for another car with a lower treadwear rating on the rear, I actually had the same concern. I think for this type of question, consulting the manufacturer may be in order.

Yeah I called them. Pirelli said the OE tire is different compounds for different sizes meant for specific cars
So now I’m contemplating going to 275/35 front an 315/35r20 in the rear but need to see how other people who have done that size like it. DWS has that size

I think I have seen a few members with that size. If not lowered you will probably be ok. Hopefully they will see this and chime in.

I'd like to get these for my 24 non-HP Dark Horse for winter setup. I don't want to lower car .
Can you run the 20" 10/11 staggered with 275/35 on front and 305/35 on rear ?
Finding the 295/35 in all-season is impossible!
I saw this other thread... I have 295/35 20 on 11" in the rear... Michelin PS AS4 seems to be the only all season that size.

I zoomed in din on your avatar to look at your tires and noticed something odd. Did you remove your front fender badges?

I’ve run both of those tires on wide rears, and the Michelins tend to handle cold snaps and wet slush a bit more confidently, especially on heavier cars. The Pirellis feel fine in mild weather but get a little stiff once temps drop. If you want a quick sanity check before pulling the trigger, the tire buying guide on Pick Your Tires breaks down real-world performance in a pretty no-nonsense way.
