It’s not a big deal. Takes 3 minutes to flash back your tune.Glad i pulled my telemetric fuse. Seems ford is trying to mess with tuning is more the case. Btw they can send whatever they want OTA and not give a shit what it does to your car or where you are.
Good to know thought my car hasn't updated since the cobra gauges were pushed out. No issues with the function of the car no reason to mess with what's working. It’s not a big deal. Takes 3 minutes to flash back your tune.
I will simply never understand the thought process behind purchasing a modern vehicle with modern features (like OTA updates), then disabling said features because you are afraid of them.Glad i pulled my telemetric fuse. Whiz bang without the bang leaves ?I will simply never understand the thought process behind purchasing a modern vehicle with modern features (like OTA updates), then disabling said features because you are afraid of them.
Why not just... buy a previous generation Mustang without this?
Have you seen the class action lawsuits against manufacturers for selling your information?I will simply never understand the thought process behind purchasing a modern vehicle with modern features (like OTA updates), then disabling said features because you are afraid of them.

Yes, I am familiar with how manufacturers are using/selling the data that is collected via our vehicles.Have you seen the class action lawsuits against manufacturers for selling your information?
When you hit agree and accept an app on your phone or allow the manufacturer to peek in on your car, and where it has been or what you have done with it they get to know a lot about you.
It is bad enough the Event Data Recorder holds as much info as it does, and if you followed the Karen Read case in MA over the last couple of years they used the data in her Lexus's computers to try to hang her on a murder charge.
And yes, Ford IS selling data from your car to a company called Lexus Nexus, and they are selling the data to God only knows who,
Everyone is selling your data my friend. If you are using a computer or smart phone you have no privacy and EVERYTHING is being tracked.Have you seen the class action lawsuits against manufacturers for selling your information?

Not afraid of them they are unnecessary. Its simply another way to collect data about you and sell it. It is a point of failure and intrusion. if its online it can be hacked. If it hasn't happened yet it will. IF an OTA hasn't screwed up someone's car yet it also will and leave them stranded. Both scenarios may have already happened. The only secure computer is one locked in a vault with no users and no outside connections.I will simply never understand the thought process behind purchasing a modern vehicle with modern features (like OTA updates), then disabling said features because you are afraid of them.

And ford still records what is called no identifying data, which is then aggregated to identify you. Its quite alot of data too. Just because people look for data on you doesn't mean you need to make it easy for them to do so. There are well over 10000 data brokers and many will sell data that may not even be yours that gets mixed in to your data erroneously. It can affect your credit, ability to get a loan your car insurance. Yes for has the option to opt out of sending data to your insurance. Guess what its only identifying data. The car still sends anonymous data like G forces in lateral acceleration, braking and speed and yes it knows what the road you are on and what its speed limit is and if your are running faster than the posted limit.Everyone is selling your data my friend. Also, there are options in the infotainment system that allow you to select what Ford tracks on the vehicle. Most of mine are shut off.
No. The car does not SEND this info unless you have it enabled. The car still sends anonymous data like G forces in lateral acceleration, braking and speed and yes it knows what the road you are on and what its speed limit is and if your are running faster than the posted limit.
What makes ‘my’ data so important that they need to know? How do they know it is ‘you’ when it’s a vehicle anyone can drive? And ford still records what is called no identifying data, which is then aggregated to identify you. Its quite alot of data too.
