I've had my 2024 since April and have never driven in track mode. Drag mode, slipper mode, sport mode all the time but afraid of the traction control being turned off in track mode.
Don't be afraid of track mode. It's not that scary. The car is still very well behaved and won't break loose on you unless you're a total idiot. Just go slow and get the feel for it before getting aggressive. It's amazing in the twisties. You'll be delighted!

O I'm testing it tonight. I love the shifters, I go in manual mode all the time or sport mode with downshifting. I just wish I could put it into regular mode from manual mode without waiting for a red light

Just know ahead of time that the throttle input requires more pedal in Track compared to Sport. Some people are taken back if they are used to Sport mode. The shift logic is track mode is near perfect. You wont need paddles.

Traction does not completely turn off in track mode. I learn that but not sure best way to explain it.

I’m more afraid of Traction Control on. I don’t like the idea of brakes being applied when I am still in control.

If you don’t mash the pedal while turning that’s 95% of the problem cured. I have gotten comfortable with Normal Mode as far as knowing how far down to push the pedal relates to what gear it drops in. I passed a car the other day and just dropped the pedal enough to get down to the gear I want. You’re Ok if you don’t floor it. Also with cold weather approaching, there will be less grip with cold roads and tires, so always know your factors.

My tires already lost 3 lbs of air with the cooler weather…(all 4) Have to top them off.

Its all in good fun bro. 😘

With less than a 1k miles your car is still learning its shift logic. With more break-in and seat time it will smooth out!

I drove to work this morning in sport mode and honestly the car shifted great. I think it's learned my inputs so it's not hanging in the gears unless I mash it.

Try driving just cruising around in Sport Mode without being aggressive. Make a conscious effort to give it less pedal. The car should settle down some. 👍🏻
lol…. 😁

Good tips! The shifting is absolutely adaptive. I’ll try going easier in Sport Mode and see how it goes. Having near 500 hp under my foot is still mind boggling to me.

I go between sport and normal depending on my mood. I have done a few dragstrip out of redlights, chirps through 3rd, hilarious.

One thing not to forget, I think AZ Ryan said it (forgive me if I'm wrong), if you stomp it in Normal, the car will launch hard.

Also, let's not forget that we're driving 486 HP (stock) on public roads and there's always trouble awaiting if one isn't careful on a public street or road with that kind of power. Might as well call it 500 hp. I know, that's already been said in a hundred different ways.

All so if you put the car in manual mode with the gear selector you can hold the downshift paddle and it will bring you down to the lowest gear possible. Not sure if anyone has brought this up.
Interesting!

+1! I am hesitant to ever just stomp on it and see what happens. I have gotten familiar enough with Normal Mode to know how far down to press the gas pedal to get the desired drop-down gear for passing. It is proportional.

Almost done with break-in so plan to reprogram shift points with different driving Style as well.

I don't go around just stomping it, just saying it will take off. I've accelerated hard enough to know. From still to the floor is now what I'm talking about.

So, what did you do, break it in easy and now going to drive it hard now? I doubt the transmission will behave any different. It knows you. Man, you've paid for a car that you aren't using! Cost per mile is smile is HIGH!!

Actually it's closer to 400hp than 500hp.

Yeah, I tried my best to go easy on it during break-in.

Transmissions are absolutely continuously adaptive. I mostly did gentle take-offs from a stop which resulted in being in 5th gear in like 3 seconds…lol. I noticed a more aggressive throttle tip-in lets the gears wind out more in the same Normal Mode. More “spirited” driving will result in the shift points adapting.

My Prowler had an adaptive transmission. When I disconnected the battery ground for 20 minutes it reset to factory specs which was hard firm shifting, but soft traffic driving resulted in the shifts softening up. Yes I had a Plymouth Prowler as a daily driver for 6 years….no other car. Snow, rain, even got caught in hail one day!

Actually it's closer to 400hp than 500hp.
Are you referring to RWHP vs flywheel?

….Below is proof I was nuts. They only made 163 of black over silver “Black Tie Edition”

I'm referring to the horsepower that is used and that can be felt since the conversation was about a car with a lot of horsepower on public roads.

If the crank horsepower is 10.000hp and the whp is only 100hp, than it's strange to brag about 10.000hp on public roads while in real time it's only 100hp.

Well it is a numbers game and driveline loss varies greatly. In my Prowler, it boasted 250 hp, but it such massive driveline loss, it only put out 160 hp at the wheels!
