I’m 10 months into ownership of my first Mustang GT (w/ A10 transmission) and still working through the nuances of the different drive modes. What is the preferred drive mode for the best acceleration at highway speeds?

I usually just leave it in normal, but if on a two-lane, SPORT!

It appears the Sports Mode is the most adaptive. I like it, so that is what I use. That said, I can imagine it getting tiring in stop and go traffic not to speak of lower milage.

So wait a minute.

Let‘s say you want to pass a slower car. So do you pull over, think about it for a couple minutes (or maybe just slow down and divert your attention), decide what mode you think is called for, make the change, then try to catch back up and pass the guy?

I know you responders are trying to be helpful but if your pants leg all of a sudden feels damp there may be a valid reason why.
