I'd love to order a set for my Dark Horse! any update on when it will be back in stock?

Thanks!
Hey, sorry about that. I have a few more sets available right now. I assume some losses due to shipping but things have been better than expected. I just updated the site.

thinking about getting a whipple, do these provide enough flow. I can’t find anything on just how high flow the filters are with the SC.

Hello Everyone,

I am very excited to have my first prototype in hand and doing some fitment checks. We will be making a revision due to the much stiffer/stronger material but the design is nearly complete.

I am hoping to have sales beginning towards the end of June or early July at the latest.

Your customers seem to like what they have bought from you. All good. Correct me if I'm wrong, you went straight from a prototype to sales without a pre-production phase where the product is used then tested and re-evaluated prior to release to sales. Meaning, as released for sales, your paying customers are your pre-production test phase vehicles.

After being over a Tier 1 Ford supplier for a number of years, I know that Ford does not skip this phase prior to any significant new product release. I'm glad it seems to be working out for you.

Time will tell as these filters are cleaned enough times to know for sure what their useful lifetime really is or, put another way, how many cleanings is realistic. Let me know when you know for sure what a realistic number of cleanings is for these reusable filters is. I may be your customer after knowing this.

When a filter is marketed as reusable, a number of successful cleaning cycles should go with the marketing material. Good luck on continued success.

This is a good question. I do not have an empirical answer to this. These flow slightly more than the oiled filter media they were tested against but they were not specifically tested to the flowrates that are possible with FI.

There are some calculators online to help with sizing air filters for required airflow and using a constant of 2.0 for volumetric efficiency for turbocharged gas engines lands you around the the max SA of these filters. There are a lot of assumptions built into this calculation.

These filters are the same or very nearly the same size as the Whipple filters but may have different pleat size and density. I imagine the Whipple filters will be more free flowing since power is their game and these are designed to be better filtering. Hopefully, some day, I get the chance to do the testing and collect the data. I would love to add a Whipple to my car.

Thank you for your comments and insight.

I completed as thorough of testing with the filters as possible for a very small company before starting sales. The only change from the final prototype to the production product was urethane hardness and removing the locating lug to increase lifespan by not having the same section of filter directly in front of the open grill.

A benefit of working with an established manufacturer is that the material has been tested and proven. Using it in a new market does require extra testing and that has been documented throughout this thread.

Useful life has been discussed as well. Some important take aways are that number of cleanings or useful life is directly related to use. While these filters are reusable, they will not last forever. I have cleaned them many times without any degradation but as I noted previously, washing them many times without use in between doesn't translate to the real world. Manufacturer states 10 cleanings. If you live out East, I would expect longer life than in the West with more clay and sand particulate in the air. I do not report a specific number since there are so many factors that can change this.

I wish you and your product the best in the marketplace. Free advice so take it for what it's worth. Be careful about letting third party distributors being allowed to sell your filters. You will give away significant profit margin, potentially.

With a little marketing on your part, these filters will sell well by word of mouth on top of your own marketing. Once you have a new effective product, it then becomes a marketing, packing, and shipping operation for the most part. Keep us posted.

I will take the advice. This is all new to me so more the merrier. Marketing is the next step for me but I have been taking it a bit slow right now due to other life needs. I am hoping to get started this fall.

As for now, filters will be back in stock Thursday this week and I will be shipping new orders on Friday!

Been a very interesting month of sales. We crossed off two more firsts. Had our first sale in Italy and a sale to a US military base. I had no idea how mail worked for shipping to oversee bases so that was interesting to read up on.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Just placed my order! Looking forward to getting these installed. Lots of people saying throttle response feels more direct and linear with these filters which is what I'm hoping for, and I probably needed new filters soon anyway with 5,500 miles on the odometer.

Thank you for your order and support. We will get yours out the door today along with a set going to New South Wales.

Having such a small media thread diameter does allow for a much more uniform and controlled media thickness, which has the added benefit of increased flow over a paper filter while maintaining filtration efficiency. While the gains are small, they are nice to see.

Today I came back home and filters were there waiting for me. I fitted them, no issues, enough room in the box.
I turned the car on and all seems fine; I will drive it properly later on or tomorrow :like:
The original filters are a little bit dirty, especially the left one (facing the engine).

I’m glad they made it and you got them fitted without issue! Make sure to keep the stock ones in case you need to drive while these dry after cleanings.

Thank you for your order!

Do you know if yours would work in another CAI system (like steeda, roush etc) or do they only work in the factory intake. I bought a pair a while ago and they work great but Im thinking of putting a new CAI on. Thx The product/filters are great hate to not be able to use them.
