Did you start out with the stock blade spoiler? If so, how easy was it to remove?Scored the Dar spoiler and got it on this past week.
Thats why I went for the delete option so I could put my own on without issues. Glad you were able to get it finished to your liking though.Removing the stock spoiler is a BITCH. Itās held on with bolts and 3M tape and you have to get all the 3M tape off the trunk before putting the new spoiler on.
I didnāt have fishing line so I used weed trimmer line. Even though I taped off the trunk I still burned through the paint in two small spots. How I did that I have no idea. Then instead of using a heat gun to weaken the 3M tape I sawed with the line as well as lifting up. Well I lifted up a bit too hard and heard a loud POP. didnāt know what it was until later.
The rear module that bolts on to the trunk has a long line of 3M tape at the forward lip that holds it flush to the trunk. I broke that 3M tape hold. So now the module sits high off the trunk on one side.
After trying several things I eventually got some fresh 3M tape in between and locked it down but it still sits just a bit high off the trunk. I filled the 2 spots with paint and it passes the 5 foot test. But damnā¦to eff up a brand new car just adding a spoiler.
Between putting on the louvers, splitter, spoiler, and rear black panelā¦all was just tape and silicone. I was a nervous wreck by the end. Just big pieces you only have one shot at Mounting correctly.
Wow thanks for sharing all that. Considering my car is black I'll probably stick with the factory blade spoiler since black-on-black limits the visibility of all the curves anyway. Probably not worth the risk in my case.Removing the stock spoiler is a BITCH. Itās held on with bolts and 3M tape and you have to get all the 3M tape off the trunk before putting the new spoiler on.

That sounds like a nightmare. I am definitely not doing it myself! GlennRemoving the stock spoiler is a BITCH. Itās held on with bolts and 3M tape and you have to get all the 3M tape off the trunk before putting the new spoiler on.
