Has anyone tried the fitacamx dashcam for 2024 Mustang GT S650? I was looking at the Mangoal tech camera and they still haven't produced a S650. They have a S550 and MACK-E. No 650.

I have it installed in mine. Been in for about 2 months w/o any issues. Video quality is good.
Haven't hooked up rear camera yet due to window tint, so I got to figure out, eventually, a way to mount it under headliner or rear deck.

Only installation issue I ran into was having to shove wires back up into it after hooking it up. Not too much room to work with under there.

I'm looking at the FitCamx as well because I would rather be in stealth mode. I'm not finding much information on the net so I'm kind of on the fence about it.

I have never felt the need for a camera in one of my cars until I bought this Mustang GT. I find many people try to goat me into a race and I never bite which irritates them. tailgating, cutting me off, I am amazed at the reaction to my car. I want video if an accident occurs because of these knuckleheads. I am going to give the fitcamx a go and will report back to the group.

How odd. Baffling, even. That has literally never happened to me. Why would somebody tailgate or cut you off because of not racing?

What do you do when they tail gate? Can't you just put on your turn signal, wait until it flashes three times, and then cautiously change lanes to the right to let them pass?

I have just taken an exit to get away from someone that I couldn't otherwise on interstates. Driving an interstate on weekends or holidays brings out the people that don't know how to drive on a highway sanely. That's why I try to time my weekend trips to my family to leave during the week then leave their place during the next week.

Also, a dashcam can work against you as well as for you if you're in the wrong. Some people also forget that other people have them and practically every 18 wheeler has one. Truck drivers hate cars and many car drivers hate truck drivers. Now, everyone feels the need to protect themselves from everyone else. Sad state of affairs.

I am in the middle of installing mine. It has been a real pain trying to pull the plug out of the sensor. Any suggestions?

I just ignore them. I live in metro Detroit near a street named Woodward which is known for drag racing. I completely ignore them, haven't had a ticket in 40 years and don't one. I let loose in the country where it's safer.

never underestimate how stupid people are. i have a story about a tailgater from just yesterday.

i was on my way home and a Hyundai Elantra was tailgating me, with no more than 10ft between my rear bumper and her front bumper. every lane change and turn i made was mirrored by her for nearly 3 miles. she only stopped when i made a lane change and she decided not to follow me because there wasn't enough space to. she then tailgated the other person she was behind just as badly for probably another 5 miles before i turned off onto another road. she stopped so closely behind me at each time she could that she nearly rear ended me at least 3 times

I was tempted the other day to get out of my car at a stop light and ask the person behind me WTF they were doing riding my bumper. I didn't because, among other reasons, around here, that's a good way to stare down the barrel of a gun or worse. My local po po captain, whom I know, told me to NEVER get out of my car in a road rage incident. Just call them instead. "Those people" are out there for sure.

Yeah, it's a bad idea.

I am a law abiding, nonviolent sort, a former police officer, but if I was inattentively driving, or even if I was intentionally driving closely to your rear bumper (say, if you were in the left lane and had not yet taken the hint to move over to the right to allow me to pass), and you (or anybody) got out of the car, I would draw the pistol I always keep on my belt, open my door, try not to show you the pistol, which would stay hidden low under the door but ready, and clearly warn you not to approach.

Obviously, your life would not be in danger if you stopped and did not approach, but this unnecessarily raises the risk for everybody. It would be a bad time to, for example, realize your key fob was in your pocket and reach for it.

Now substitute law abiding, peaceable me for some armed convicted felon nut case who is already pissed off, on meth, with low IQ and low impulse control, and somebody else cut him off before you, so he is already amped up on adrenaline, and now you are holding him up, and he is late to his probation officer meeting, and now you decide to get out of the car to give him the hostile "WTF are you doing riding my bumper?" interrogation. That could go badly.

No, I wouldn't ever leave my car, just felt like it. Like that old saying goes, "stupid hurts".

I have had someone walk up to my raised window yelling at me though. I just sat tight hoping the light would change soon because I really didn't feel like killing someone that day. The light changed and I went on my merry way. Yes, this clown was on meth or something weird. My hand was on my CZ P01 the whole time so, like I said, around here, it can happen. I live in a no permit required...concealed or open, brandishing allowed (but not smart to do), constitutional carry, castle law state. I still don't want to kill anyone but I am armed most of the time.

Always stay in your car. If someone else gets out...refrain from hopping out too and try to de-escalate while preparing to defend yourself if needed. I live in a place where "everyone" has a gun as well. But...if someone starts punching your car, you are most likely going to have a harder time defending yourself in court if you use a weapon than you are if you simply drive off and away, then call the cops. In this kind of a situation, I'd make sure I took a pic of the car and license plate if it stopped and someone is getting out. Bottom line, as with any other place, situational awareness is the key. A lot of people (wrongly!) feel safe in their cars somehow, and then fail to react to danger from individuals. Don't be one of those people!

Any other updates to how well the Fitcamx works, or doesn't work? This looks like it's going to be my choice as it is stealthy and I don't like things hanging off the windshield if possible. Also, will the rain sensor power both the camera and a radar detector? I have a V1G2 with a tap to the rain sensor. Thanks!
