The comments were funny. If a higher up feels like the Camaro is even looking the Vette’s direction it’s gonna get axed again. 😂

There was one comment talking about GM taking the Dodge approach with the Charger being both 2 and 4 doors. We still don’t even know if it will work because they’re behind on everything.

Are they still making that Corvette SUV that was supposedly long in the works? Lol

They gotta be, that knockoff URUS crowd it thirsty for something like it, esp seeing all these new caddy ESUV’s out… the puzzle pieces are there.

I for one hope the Camaro comes back. For one, it was a pretty good car performance wise. But mostly because innovation often goes stagnate without competition. The Mustang needs to be pushed so designers don't get complacent. This is how we lose the V8.

Unfortunately the presence of the Corvette has and always will hurt the Camaro. And in these modern times, I don't see it making sense business wise to have both without a massive sales increase.

The 5th gen Camaro has Holden, formerly an Aussie GM division underpinnings, the GM Zeta platform, another case of a manufacturer, and GM is famous for this, using another design to make a US market car with a lot of the tooling and R&D already paid for.

The last generation Camaro was built on the GM Zeta platform, and that platform was used for 4 Cadillac models in addition to the 6th gen Camaro

If GM is going to bring the Camaro back from the dead, you can bet it is going to be built on a platform GM already designed and will be used across several model lines.

That is where Ford has no advantage, the engine and transmission may come out of other Ford lines, but the underpinnings are still based on the S550 and are not shared so there is no economy of scale in manufacturing.

The Ford 8.8 IRS is pretty much made only for the Mustang at this point, but that design/R&D cost was recovered decades ago.

The 2020 to 2025 Caddy CT4 and CT5 are Zeta platform cars, so GM is still making what could be a Camaro if they thought there was enough market for them, but if you look at the 2024 sales numbers for the Camaro they make the Mustang look like a best seller.

Last generation Camaro was the Alpha platform not the Zeta.

Go ahead GM, ram a wooden stake through it's heart with a battery and electric motor.

You're close. I can see them taking the E-Ray route and having some kind of electrical assist. If I remember correctly that was a option in one of their surveys for the Camaro before they axed it. I wouldn't mind it either as the E-Ray is pretty badass.

No doubt, but I want less complexity in my car, not more.
Imagine trying to revive an old hybrid or EV in 30 years time? Yet we still have F40's, Testarossa's and any number of classic 60 plus year old American iron running around.

Yeah that's the part that concerns me too. Some of the Toyota Tundra I-Force Max issues come to mind.
