Dam...if you told me 5 years ago the top vette would have more power, faster lap times, and cost 6 figures less than the top mustang I would have said...GTFO you're crazy! 2025 is upside down.

I've only seen 3 ZR1's advertised for sale, one was $450k, another was $500k, and one of these below for $375k which is 150k over sticker. The rest of these ads are auto-populated by the dealer websites when they're entered into their systems. I'm sure there is a similar ADM on all of those as well. It will be at least 2 years before the average person can pick up a ZR1 for sticker, so they're probably in the same boat as the GTD lottery winners.

Like the same thing wouldn't happen to GTD's if they were on dealer lots.

ok please post just one GTD for sale then, at any price btw. We’ll wait. The Mustang is the better investment for sure if you can get one while in a year or 2 the ZR1’s will be everywhere. Even better.

YUP. Both of these cars are unobtanium for 99% of people. The GTD just has the dumb selection process on top of that

Apparently you didn't read that last sentence. Ford is holding the titles to the GTDs for 2 years before releasing them to the buyers, hence the comment. Are you BIG MAD? LOL

Have you seen the prices for it.
Yes: a ZR1 with the ZTK package and carbon aero along with competition seats is 190K, so about half the price of a GTD with the track package, which is about 368K. Sure, ZR1s are going for a premium now, but it’s not a limited production car—if you want a ZR1 and are financially capable of getting one, you’ll get one eventually. Z06s were going for a hefty premium when they were first released, and now you can get them with a good discount, so I would expect the same for the ZR1. The number of people capable and willing to spend 200k on a Chevy is not a huge market. Plus, anyone that wants a ZR1 can get one, as opposed to applying for a GTD. If you think a 368K GTD is expensive, wait until they hit the secondary market and the price difference between the GTD and the ZR1 will be enormous.

Z1R has 250HP more than GTD and lighter. I was expecting to be mid 40s. Kinda disappointed its only 3 seconds faster.

I thought it would be a little faster too, but it is what it is. It’s still faster than the GT3 RS and the GTD for a fraction of the cost. I’d call that a win regardless.

It's also running standard Corvette suspension and not custom big $$$ shit that Ford had to ship somewhere to have the car converted to...

GTD had 2 tries.

Also, the Chevy didn't use real race drivers.
So the Chevy can beat it's record easily still.
That's really strange. The Nordschliefe is another circuit where track knowledge is paramount.
So there probably is an easy 20 - 30 seconds less with an experienced driver. It's a shame Sabine wasn't there. Or any of the locals.
Put Timo Bernhard in the GTD

Did you watch the video?

That driver is not losing 20-30 seconds to anybody.

Brian Wallace is not a professional race car driver, but he is certainly no slouch and is familiar with Nurburgring.
