Remember when everyone was making fun of the GTD weight and low horsepower lol They go the same speed around Nürburgring.

It took hundreds more horsepower, hundreds of pounds less weight, mid engine, just to go the same speed as a 4300 pound Mustang.

Agreed. The ZR1X IS impressive. It’s in hyper car territory.

And yet…we have a MUSTANG that is competing with it. Even though it is unbotanium that is still impressive

The fact that it's a regular production car with engineers driving, unlike Ford who used professional drivers, it's very impressive. A pro could probably squeeze another two or three seconds out of the ZR1 and ZR1X.

I also think it’s a win for Chevy that anyone that has the means will be able to eventually buy a ZR1/ZR1X, instead of having to be an influencer and submit an application to Ford for the privilege of paying almost twice as much to be slower.

ZR1X can definitely get a faster time. Theres no reason it should only be 3 seconds faster than the GTD.

I suspect a low 6:40's time is highly possible, maybe high 6:30's. Theres a few sections in particular I believe they're losing time in, but without the full lap footage no way of knowing.

Actually thinking more about it the GDTs only real "original" parts are the body panels, aero, and suspension. The engines an updated predator 5.2. The chassis a Mustang. The transmission is a version of the Tremec DCT used in the gt500, Z06 and the ZR1. The wheels are magnesium versions of the American Racing wheels they have on the GT3. The interior (regretably) is just an S650 interior.

90% of the price tag is the "limited edition supercar" bs that manus like doing.
