Yeah, this makes more sense. Note that over the air updates will reset the custom colors, alarm mode prompt on exit ( where it either enables by default or asks when you shut off ), and ambient lighting. One of the OTA updates actually deleted my custom mode. So once you’re reasonably current, you can consider turning off OTA updates.

However, even IF you shut off OTA updates, the screen will periodically reset to the default orange color theme, no ambient lighting and ask on exit for arming the alarm. There is no rhyme or reason to it reseting, it just does it randomly. I’ve had it happen overnight, I’ve had it happen after a 10 minute drive. I’ve had the car down for about 9 consecutive days and no issue, and resets after a 15 minute drive - again, I do not have OTA updates enabled any more so this is completely random resetting as many others have described here.
My car ALWAYS asks if I want to turn off motion sensors when I shut it off. I do have updates scheduled...any day at 1AM....

Hi! I took have had my 25' EB for around 2.5 months! Same issues you are describing has happened to my display. Perhaps we got an update and it reset stuff?
Yep, it sounds like similar issues in any case. I did set my car to schedule updates for 1AM any day as I had heard that without that, the lighting colors might reset periodically. I just noticed today though (I assume we got an update yesterday) that my car is starting up to the menu that shows phones and stuff so basically the "Settings" menu page, before it swaps over to my car play. So they are apparently playing with things.

Is that not normal? I thought it was supposed to do that.
I just saw someone post that the message comes on along with the ambient lighting being reset and you don't have scheduled updates enabled. I thought it WAS normal. I'm not sure what exactly the hell that MEANS...but I usually tell it NOT to turn off the sensors.

I'm pretty sure it's normal. You can change the settings so it doesn't ask you every time. It's under security in the infotainment.

Ah, ok, thank you. Anyone else seeing their car screen boot into the "Settings" menus when starting up?

This can be toggled in the center stack ; it’s “ask on exit”.

When the custom colors reset, ambient lighting it switched to off and the alarm ask on exit prompt is set to default - ask. In the center stack you can turn this prompt off.

From my experience, it may be the battery. I took delivery of my performance pack GT back in March. I always put on the custom drive mode immediately at start up and after about 500 miles on the dash it was no longer available. I went on a short 6 day trip visiting the wife’s family in Washington state and came home to a completely dead car. Key fob wouldn’t even open the car door and I had to use the physical key. While it was a hassle having to buy a $300 NOCO pro jumper, and that took an entire day to charge in order for the car to start, the positive was that my custom drive mode was back. Everything had reset when the battery went completely dead. I don’t get to drive the car daily and it’s mostly a weekend car but the issue is the amount of distance in my short drives to the office, the gym or picking up my 5 year old at school. Now that I know about the battery situation, it sits on the CTEK battery tender. Custom drive mode and all setting now all stay the same. Occasionally the ambient lighting will change back to factory default but that’s about it. Not sure if it’s the OTA updates, but you never know if and when if the car is updated because there’s no way to tell if an update has occurred. Any how, just sharing my experience with the custom modes and it appears to be when the battery runs low due to short distance driving and not enough time to charge.

That could be one possible charge, but it’s not everybody’s issue for sure.

OTA updates push a notification over the center stack. if you get updated or you get an update pushed and permission is required, you’ll get a prompt on start up via the center stack screen.

when your car died, did FordPass notify you - either deep sleep mode, low charge, remote features disabled, etc?

it sounds like you may have a parasitic draw.

Good to know about the OTA updates. Guess I haven’t gotten one yet lol. Yes, Ford Pass app would have a notification about low battery and the car going into sleep mode to conserve battery.

Hey there! I wanted to give an update. I went into the system and once again added my color theme and cluster layout. So far when I fire up my EB, it starts on Normal with the changes I have saved. Here's hoping it stays like this and doesn't default back to the stock cluster gauge layout and color theme.

Ok. Then I don't know why it was saving my driving mode then. I made a custom driving mode of Sport, plus red themed and moved around my cluster display. All that saved each and every time I fired her up. But now, it no longer goes to that customer mode and reverts back to normal mode.
I don't have an EB, but my GT Premium always defaults to normal mode. I have to recall the profile I want, I have two, by pressing the mode button twice. When I first got my GT, it didn't always remember all the parameters I chose, but after an OTA update, it now does. I still check it every time, but it is now very consistent. Why yours didn’t, I have no idea. Hope for an OTA update! Glenn
