The display colors should save no matter what.

As for the guage cluster settings, are you trying to save it for all modes or just the custom mode?
Well originally I saved it for Sport mode. I also turned off auto on/off for the engine.

Up until last week, my mustang started off with the gauge cluster layout and color theme. Then it suddenly started displaying the cluster layout and color scheme of the stock Normal mode, which is why I was confused.

I have found saving any settings, ambient lighting, gauge cluster theme, auxiliary gauges or programming keys is hit and miss.. the boost gauge will disappear from the auxiliary gauges for weeks and then appear.. sometimes these setting work sometimes they don’t.. I have giving up with all of it. I deleted the profiles and deleted the keys. I kept it simple with the star button to track exhaust and the gauge cluster to normal. The rest I’m able to change if I need to.

So just to clarify, there are two seperate custom gauge settings. You can chose to save the style of your choice in custom mode, OR can change it in ALL modes.

What I'm asking is, did you save it in Custom mode, or in the cluster theme mode?

My car also does not like to save in the cluster setting. Not sure if it's a glitch, or something that just can't be saved. I've have zero screen issues outside of that.

I believe I saved it to the Sport mode. What's weird is that I didn't realize that I was driving in normal mode but with all the customization that was on Sport mode. So, maybe I saved it for all modes then?

Sorry, I don't think I'm wording my question very well.

Did you try to save the Sport gauges in the Custom Mode like this? -

Or did you try and save it the cluster theme menu like this? -

Ok. Mine also does not save after a restart when I select that. It defaults back to "match drive mode". Personally I don't care much as I prefer the different gauges in each mode. But I've always wondered if it's a glitch.

Can anyone else confirm if their settings save when using this?

I'm going to mess around with the settings this weekend and test some stuff out.

If your car was defaulting to sport mode, you have a Unicorn, not a Mustang. Normal mode is the default start up mode on all the lineup- trucks, cars, SUV’s, you name it.
This! The resetting to normal mode is a regulatory compliance thing. Same with the auto-off for the engine when you're sitting still. They have to make those things default. If your car was remembering sport mode you were just lucky....for that period of time!

It either remembered sport mode or was defaulting into normal mode with the same color theme and gauge cluster layout as sport mode, which is why I was confused.

It threw me because I thought it was starting off in sport mode. I'm just curious as to why it kept my sport mode presets and applied it to normal mode. Oh well.

Sorry if I missed it in an earlier post, but is your car fairly new? I've had mine for two months and for a while it would periodically reset my chosen colors for ambient and for the gauges. Keep doing that, even though I set a profile and everything. Then a couple of times it just reset the ambient lighting part. Now...I haven't had it reset anything for about 3 weeks. Seems solid now. But I'll see. Seems to be a bit of oddness with the settings and retention. Mines also a 2025 if that helps?

Ok. I'm thinking that the display settings saved but I was driving in normal this entire time. But I still don't understand why it doesn't save my display settings. Someone mentioned that maybe I had an update and my display settings were reset.
Yeah, this makes more sense. Note that over the air updates will reset the custom colors, alarm mode prompt on exit ( where it either enables by default or asks when you shut off ), and ambient lighting. One of the OTA updates actually deleted my custom mode. So once you’re reasonably current, you can consider turning off OTA updates.

However, even IF you shut off OTA updates, the screen will periodically reset to the default orange color theme, no ambient lighting and ask on exit for arming the alarm. There is no rhyme or reason to it reseting, it just does it randomly. I’ve had it happen overnight, I’ve had it happen after a 10 minute drive. I’ve had the car down for about 9 consecutive days and no issue, and resets after a 15 minute drive - again, I do not have OTA updates enabled any more so this is completely random resetting as many others have described here.

Hi! I took have had my 25' EB for around 2.5 months! Same issues you are describing has happened to my display. Perhaps we got an update and it reset stuff?
