Seriously, what is with all the negativity on this site lately, like good Christ lol. It feels like 80% of the posts I see are people bitching or complaining about one thing or the other.
Maybe grow thicker skin and accept that people have different opinions than you. You've been pretty argumentative of late. 🤷‍♂️

But if you're just gonna complain about everything, why are you here? You can have a different opinion, but if you aren't gonna add anything of merit or constructive to a conversation, why not just not respond? I'm more argumentive because it gets annoying to see people who just want to be negative for the sake of being negative.

I don't like fox body mustangs, you don't see me going into fox body communities just to be negative, I just focus on other mustangs and cars I do like.

What small car has Ford came out with in recent history that was exciting, other than the Focus RS?

Im honestly not trying to bust your balls, but you just proved my point with this post. Everyone who disagrees with you is not being negative for the sake of being negative. You just can't seem to get your head around a different opinion. Sorry your so bothered. Cheers.

The DCT was dog shit for sure, thankfully that transmission is gone now. As for the head gasket issues on the 2.3 I looked into that because I want to get a focus RS, apparently it's a first year manufacturing error that was rectified with a recall and is no longer an issue.
Yeah maybe, but have they fixed the problem with the unsupported wet cylinders where they meet the cyl head. I believe that was the cause of the gasket blowing.
Were head gaskets an issue on the Ecoboost?

Yea, can't wait for a 1.5 turbo with a CVT
OK, CVT's are the work of Satan, or Greta Thunberg, but don't knock 1.5 turbos. Our Skoda has one, all 110kw and 250nm torque. That torque figure is higher than our GT86 at 2000rpm lower.
It'll do 0- 100kmh in 8.3 and top out at 220kmh. OK for a small crossover shopping trolley.
I won't say it's exciting, but it has the same performance as my '90 Prelude and uses 50% less gas.
And then there's the GR Yaris, if you want to wear beer goggles and a mask every time you drive it.

A car doesn’t need to be exciting. That is what the Mustang is for. What Ford needs is a low cost starter car with enough power to make a young person smile. A budget model, probably hybrid and the 2.3L EcoBoost hot version.

True. But this begs the question - how would the effect Mustang sales, and why did they move away from it in the first place? I just don't see this ever being made state side.

You're right, I'll try to improve on that moving forward, cheers.

The focus st and fiesta st were really fun budget enthusiasts cars as well from what I've heard.

Some more interesting news is coming out, some of these cars will be developed with partners, and some will be developed exclusively by Ford. Common consensus is it'll be Ford partnering with VW using vw's EV platforms for like a new affordable fiesta city car.

That's a real possibility, but then again, Ford is just finishing up developing their own affordable compact EV platform, so it would be kinda weird for them to spend all that money, just to pay another brand to use their platform instead.

It's pretty far fetched, but if it's not VW that Ford is talking about partnering with here, I feel like Toyota is another brand worth working with. Ford and Toyota are both global highly respected brands trying to improve their quality, and they both currently have this strategy of getting away from boring vehicles, and toyota is clearly open to working with other brands, especially on sports cars.

What if Ford works with Toyota to co-develop gas powered sports car platforms, splitting the development costs for low volume enthusiasts vehicles, and on top of that, Ford just does the more affordable, higher volume EVs themselves using their own platform.

We know Toyota wants to make a new MR2, it would be awesome if they worked with Ford to develop a mid-engine platform and used it as the basis for like a new MR2 and Ford RS 200. A platform like that is getting too expensive for one brand to engineer alone just to sell a few thousand vehicles, but if you split the costs, it becomes a lot more feasible.

They went away from the small car due to the high demand Stateside for SUVs. Thats why the Mustang was the only remaining car.

As someone who is kinda in the Toyota world, it isn’t happening. lol. Rumors are pointing towards them trying to do things more on their own.
