That sounds pretty promising. Just for fun, I sketched up and did some AI renderings of what I would want something like a next gen ranchero to look like. The thing with utes I wanted to improve on was the fact that most of them look like Frankenstein vehicles. There's no design cohesion, it'll be a really sleek mustang coupe front end, with a 90 degree vertical cut behind the cab. Or it'll be a really boxy truck design with like a fastback roofline.
Neither of those look all that good to me. So I imagined a new style of ute with muscle car design, where it uses a sail pillar behind the cab to emulate the fastback roofline of something like a mustang. From a distance, it just looks like a good looking coupe, then you see the truck bed and you're like "That's awesome".
Far too many vehicles expect owners to compromise, but I feel like a ute that looked like a great looking coupe, but also had a bed for when you needed to haul something would be a really nice blend of style and practicality.
