2025 Ford FT Premium 60 th y ear Anniversary
Hello everyone, I am new to this channel but wanted to say hello. I just traded in my 2008 Shelby GT500 Cobra for my 2025 Mustang GT Premium 60th anniversary. WOW, what a car, everything I love about Mustangs and more. Drives like a dream and lets you know your in control of every aspect. It the most comfortable sports car I have ever owned and most responsive. I love this car. Its worth every penny of it and so far I am impressed at every corner I take with it. I will attach files after I cleaned it up a bit but before ceramic coating which maybe one day I will do. For niow Ceramic Spray is what the ticket is. I let a couple of my friends drive it and it blew their minds. Ford did an awesome job on this version. So much fun to drive, its addicting.

What do you guys think about racing stripeson this? Will it detract from the originality. I was thinking either like a 7inch dual Blue racing stripe all the way over the top and down to area just to off the paint in blue with red pin stripe on outside. Or do you think a red 7 inch dual racing stripe with a blue pin stripe? The red racing then would match the red decal on the side.

Welcome @Cyclone

That's a lovely mustang GT and I would love to see pictures of that 2008 GT500 as well.

As far as the stripes, if it's not done from the factory - I will be doubtful that it will be done correctly or look correct but you may want to do some computer rendering or mock-ups so that you can provide it on here for us to better judge or maybe someone can help you do that who's good with that sort of thing.

Thanks for posting several awesome and detailed pictures. That is much appreciated and makes us feel that we're right next to the car and right with you in person.
Here is the 2008 Shelby GT 500 that I traded with only 16K miles on it at trade in time.

On my shelby I only used Non ethonol 95+ gasoline. I was thinking of running that on this coyote motor. I see if you use 91 or higher octane it will pull out all of the 486 HP it has. However I was thinking it would just be a better gasoline to run. Any thoughts

I like how this guy makes the graphics and installs them. so it would look similar to this but a different color

You had better find out if you're getting all of the gas additives in 95 octane. Not all higher octane non-ethanol gas has required car additives. My 2 cents.

Good Point, I originally did this on the advice of a car designers recommendation that worked for a restorer. But have not on my 2025 yet. So far only BP fuel which has additives that ford recommends has went into the 2025

Ok based on your answer, I went to the station, they recommended what the owners manual said. The Ford Manual said for the 2025 Mustangs GT Premium cars use 87 min. and 91+ for a better performance option for your car to run on. Ford hi recommended to use toptiergas.com/ for an authorized station ( to keep warranty intact) . From there when I searched the country mart came up where I get my 91+ ( usually 95 octane) fuel. The only 91+ is the non ethanol. according to top tier what non-ethanol means is its "pure gas" or a gas that does not contain ethanol as an additive. They say most stations add no more than 10-15% ethanol for mainly environmental issues. So then I searched Fords "donot use" fuels and it said
The 2025 Mustang is designed to operate on regular unleaded gasoline with a minimum pump (R+M)/2 octane rating of 87.[1] For best overall vehicle and engine performance, premium fuel with an octane rating of 91 or higher is recommended.[1]

Ford said in manual "Do not use:[1]"

  • Diesel fuel.
  • Fuels containing kerosene or paraffin.
  • Fuel containing more than 15% ethanol (E15) or E85 fuel.
  • Fuels containing methanol.
  • Fuels containing metallic-based additives, including manganese-based compounds.

When I asked my AI if non ethanol fuels had any of these characteristics it said no

So I asked
is non ethanol safe in all car engines, since Ethanol is an additive as well and more than 15% in Fords is disastrous, according to Ford.

Answer
" In short, yes, non-ethanol gasoline is generally considered safe for use in all car engines
.
Historically, ethanol in fuel caused problems with older vehicles (pre-1970s) because it corroded and damaged fuel system components made of rubber and cork.
However, the materials used in the fuel systems of cars produced since the mid-1970s are designed to withstand ethanol in gasoline, typically up to a 10% blend (E10). Even higher blends like E15 (15% ethanol) are considered safe for vehicles made in 2001 or later, according to the EPA. Some vehicles (called flex-fuel vehicles) are even designed to handle up to 85% ethanol (E85) blends.
So, while ethanol-free gas won't harm your car, it may not offer significant advantages for modern cars and can even be more expensive per gallon than ethanol-blended options.

Potential benefits of non-ethanol gas
  • Better Fuel Economy: Ethanol has lower energy content than gasoline, so non-ethanol fuel can offer slightly better fuel economy (around 3%).
  • Less Corrosive: Ethanol can attract water, leading to rust and corrosion in the fuel system over time. Non-ethanol gas avoids this issue.
  • Better for Storage: Ethanol-free gas can be stored for longer durations (up to six months) compared to ethanol-blended fuel (about three months). This makes it ideal for vehicles or equipment that are used intermittently, like classic cars or outdoor power equipment.
Ultimately, for most modern vehicles that are driven regularly, using the recommended octane level, regardless of ethanol content (up to 10-15%), is perfectly safe. However, if you have an older car, operate a boat, or use small engine equipment, ethanol-free gasoline may be a worthwhile investment to extend engine life and reduce maintenance issues.

Jan 8, 2024 — So, Why Ethanol-Free? As its name implies, ethanol-free gas is gasoline without added alcohol.

  • Is ethanol-free gas bad for your car? - Bell Performance
Mar 1, 2018 — Is ethanol-free gas bad for your car? ... This seems like a rather strange question. Is ethanol-free gas bad for your car? Isn't that the same gas we all used before ethanol was added?

So apparently non-ethanol has nothing to do with additives but using "toptier gasolines" does according to Ford and Top Tier.

Man, that's a lovely Shelby. You didn't want to keep it?

Thanks for sharing those pictures.
No, had no room in garage and the first two owners kept the car in storage the first 17 years of its life and certain things were starting to go wrong. I wanted to drive mine and not be in the shop spending thousands. I had already replaced a clutch, plugs, and lower control arms, after spending over $650.00 on ceramic coating and paint chemicals, last year. I could also see spending more on few items from simple aging, even though not driven and I wanted to drive it, therefore I traded it in on a brand new one that will be fairly maint. free except for oil change, tire rotation and handswashing. Plus the 60 year Shelby is a collectors item. Dont get me wrong I had some fun with it, but it was time. now all is good

That 60th Anniversary is really photogenic. I saw one Saturday in search of a GT. My Dark Horse Premium was stolen, so I had to get a new one. Now is the best time to get a bargain. I found a 2024 GT fully loaded with low miles in my favourite color and had to have it. My husband wanted one so we got him a new 2025 GT Premium. It gets picked up tomorrow.
